Oilers' Rob Klinkhammer: Reassigned to AHL

Klinkhammer was reassigned to AHL Bakersfield on Tuesday. Connor McDavid was officially activated off the injured reserve Tuesday, so Klinkhammer was sent down in a corresponding move to clear a roster spot. The 29-year-old had just one point in 14 NHL games this season, though he's had more success in limited time in the AHL, notching four points (three goals) in three games on the year.

Oilers' Rob Klinkhammer: Average outing in return from Condors

Klinkhammer skated for 10:40 and racked up two penalty minutes and five hits in his return from the AHL affiliate Condors. After starting the game on the second line alongside Benoit Pouliot and Jordan Eberle, Klinkhammer was quickly demoted after the line showed no chemistry on the ice. Though "Klink" went scoreless in his return, he threw his weight around quite a bit and played an impressive game. Though he had a strong outing in Bakersfield with three goals and one assist, Klinkhammer has not been able to pass the one-goal mark this season.

Oilers' Rob Klinkhammer: Recalled by Oilers on Tuesday

Klinkhammer was recalled by the Oilers on Tuesday. With Ryan Nugent-Hopkins expected to be sidelined for the next 6-to-8 weeks with a hand injury, the Oilers are in desperate need of additional depth at forward. Klinkhammer, who has tallied a single goal in 13 games with Edmonton this season, will give the Oilers' some additional depth up front, and will occasionally slot into the lineup as a bottom-six forward when called upon.

    Oilers' Rob Klinkhammer: Reassigned Friday

Klinkhammer cleared waivers and was reassigned to AHL Bakersfield on Friday. The 29-year old, who once scored 11 goals in a season, has struggled for the Oilers this year, registering a single goal in 13 games. Barring future injuries to Oilers' forwards, Klinkhammer will likely remain in the AHL for a while, especially with the upcoming return of Connor McDavid.

Oilers' Rob Klinkhammer: Waived by Oilers

Klinkhammer has been waived by the Oilers with the intent to ultimately assign him to AHL Bakersfield. Klinkhammer will be on waivers for a 24-hour period in which other teams can try to claim the winger. If there are no takers for the imposing 29-year-old during that window, then he will stay within the Oilers' organization and be sent to the minors.

Oilers' Rob Klinkhammer: Will play Saturday

Klinkhammer, who was activated from injured reserve Friday after dealing with an ankle injury, will be in the lineup against the Coyotes on Saturday. Klinkhammer has not played since Oct. 27. Of course, his ice time has been sporadic even when healthy. This season he logged 17:20 of ice time in a date with the Kings, but Klinkhammer had four other showings where he was on the ice for less than 10 minutes. He'll crack the scoresheet once in a blue moon but Klinkhammer, with his 6-foot-3, 214 mostly helps the Oilers by moving his large frame in front of opponents.

Oilers' Rob Klinkhammer: Activated off injured reserve

Klinkhammer was activated off injured reserve Thursday. Klinkhammer seems set to rejoin the lineup Thursday, though the team hasn't officially announced as such at this point. He indicated during an interview Wednesday that he was close after practicing with the team over the last few days, and the veteran winger will finally get a chance to dress for just the ninth time this season. The team should provide an updated lineup during rushes, at which point Klinkhammer's place among the lines should be revealed, though it will almost certainly be among the bottom six.

Oilers' Rob Klinkhammer: Says he's close to returning

Klinkhammer indicated in an interview Wednesday that he's close to rejoining the lineup. Klinkhammer has been practicing recently, but has yet to rejoin the lineup. He didn't rule out a potential return to the lineup Thursday, but it appeared as though he didn't seem too optimistic about it either, stating "I'm not sure. I'll have to the docs and talk to the coaches about that. It's close though." An update on his status should be provided before Thursday's contest though, confirming one way or the other.

Oilers' Rob Klinkhammer: Out at least Thursday

Klinkhammer (ankle) will not be in the lineup Thursday when the Oilers face the Blackhawks on the road, nor is he likely to play against the Avalanche on Saturday. Klinkhammer was activated from injured reserve Tuesday, only to tweak his ankle again later that night against the Rangers. Without Klinkhammer's big body -- he's 6-foot-3, 214 pounds -- on the left wing, the Oilers could have trouble plugging lanes in their own zone.

Oilers' Rob Klinkhammer: Re-injures ankle Tuesday

Klinkhammer appeared to re-injure his ankle late in Tuesday's game, the Edmonton Sun's Derek Van Diest reports. There is nothing official from the team regarding Klinkhammer re-injuring the ankle, but he should be considered day-to-day for now. The Oilers next take the ice Thursday against the Blackhawks.
