Oilers' Taylor Hall: Moved off of the top line

Hall was demoted to the third line Friday. Hall has gone nine straight games without a goal. Coach Todd McLellan broke up three of the four lines in practice Friday, only leaving the Connor McDavid line intact. Hall has 18 goals on the season but has struggled since Ryan Nugent-Hopkins went down with a broken hand. He will play on a line with Mark Letestu and Zack Kassian for the immediate future.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Only two goals since Jan. 2

Hall has only lit the lamp twice in his last 14 games. Hall does have seven helpers during those games but his owners would prefer to see a few more shots get in the net. The Oilers have been an up and down team for most of the season and Hall has followed a similar path. He is still one of the better snipers in the league and it shouldn't be long until he finds the back of the net more often.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Hot leading up to break

Hall headed into the All-Star break with an active, five-game points streak. Hall will represent the Oilers and the Pacific Division in Sunday's All-Star game. Proving that he belongs in the 3-on-3 contest featuring some of the league's best players, Hall has managed to put up 32 points in the 37 games missed by rookie phenom Connor McDavid (clavicle). His plus-2 rating also shows that he's doing work defensively - such a mark starkly contrasts the Oilers' minus-27 goal differential. Hall is the type of player who can put you over the edge in the right fantasy league but the Oilers are bottom-dwellers in the Western Conference with a 19-26-5 record, so Hall could really use a complementary weapon like McDavid.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Tallies three points Monday

Hall sniped a pair of goals and recorded an assist in Monday's 4-2 win over Florida. His second goal of the night and 18th of the season held up as the game-winner. Hall now has 44 points in 47 games to go with 183 shots on goal, which is third in the NHL only to the Capitals' Alex Ovechkin and San Jose's Brent Burns.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: No points in five games

Hall has zero points and is a minus five in his last five games. Overall this is probably just a blip on the radar as Hall has posted good numbers overall this season with 16 goals and 25 assists. The Oilers have plenty of offensive talent but how they divide up their lines once Connor McDavid (collarbone) returns is something to keep an eye on.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Poor showing Friday

Hall went minus-2 and failed to get on the scoresheet Friday night against the Lightning. Hall only has one goal for his only point in the last five contests, but the first overall draft pick of 2010 still has 41 points in 42 games on the season. It seems like Hall is firing anything and everything at opposing netminders as he has 173 shots on goal, second only to Alex Ovechkin of the Capitals. Prized rookie Connor McDavid (collarbone) is expected to return soon and his presence alone should give Hall better looks in an attempt to improve upon a lackluster shooting percentage of 9.2.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Grabs three points in win

Hall tallied three assists in Monday's win over the Jets. Hall made his presence felt in this one, as he factored into all of the team's scoring Monday. The 24-year-old has been terrific all season, but even more so of late as he's collected 14 points in the last nine games to push him up to fourth in the league with 39 points on the season.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Fires one past the goalkeeper

Hall netted his third power-play goal of the season, Tuesday against the Rangers. Hall has been melting the ice, averaging a goal a night over the last six games. On the season, the 24-year-old has registered 15 goals and 20 assists. The winger also seems to have turned his game around defensively, posting a plus-13, having only finished one previous NHL season on the plus side.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Registers four points in win

Hall scored a pair of goals and added two assists for a monstrous four-point outing Friday against the Rangers. That's three straight multi-point games for Hall, who is sporting a four-game point streak and really clicking with Leon Draisaitl on the top line. Hall now has 14 goals this season and sits fourth in the NHL scoring race with 34 points in 30 games. One of the most impressive things about Hall's super season is his plus-15 rating -- indicative of the strong all-around game he's playing. Hall scored the game-winning goal Friday and now leads the NHL in that department with five. He's shooting and scoring a ton, so you really can't do much better.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Nets overtime winner

Hall scored the game-winning goal, and added an assist in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over San Jose. Hall is ninth in the NHL with 30 points in 29 games, and has managed an impressive plus-12 rating despite Edmonton's lack of team success. He has scored in three straight games, and seems to have rediscovered the offensive form that saw him accrue 80 points in 75 games in 2013-14.
