    News: Mattias Tedenby signed a contract with HV71 of the Swedish Elite League on Thursday, Linus Hugosson of Pro Hockey Magazine reports.
    Analysis: Mattias Tedenby originally reached an agreement with KHL club Lev Praha earlier in the offseason, but the deal was voided after the team folded. The winger still decided he wanted to pursue an opportunity overseas, after he appeared in just 15 games with the Devils in 2013-14.

    Analysis: Mattias Tedenby has been a role player during his limited time back after missing several weeks with a groin issue. He'll see regular playing time for Albany right now which will help him work his way fully back into game shape.

The Devils sent him on the assignment Thursday to get him some needed ice work after he had been a regular healthy scratch of late for the team.

    Analysis: With Mattias Tedenby serving as a habitual healthy scratch for the Devils, coach Pete DeBoer decided it would be best for the winger to get some regular minutes in the minors. It's unclear whether DeBoer has plans to actually use Tedenby in games with the parent club once he returns from the conditioning assignment. He'll still remain on the 23-man roster while he's in Albany.

He's evidently ready to roll, however, as the Devils activated Tedenby Wednesday in anticipation of the 23-year-old making his 2013-14 debut Thursday. He's expected to skate on a line with Travis Zajac and Michael Ryder.
