Ducks' Cam Fowler: Picking up pace

Fowler tallied an assist Friday in an overtime loss to the Blackhawks. He now has four points on his current three-game point streak and six points in his last six games. His game is starting to emerge from an early season stupor. Fowler has just 10 points in 24 games, but that six in six pace since mid-November is a great sign for his owners. Then again, his see-saw battle with his plus-minus has him trending toward the abysmal numbers of his first two seasons (minus-53 over 158 games).

Ducks' Cam Fowler: Scores power-play goal Thursday

Fowler beat Roberto Luongo five-hole for a power-play goal in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Panthers. With Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry looking like their usual selves, Fowler skated up and received a pass that put him in a good position to score, which he did. The young blueliner has three goals and three assists on the season, and has a point in each of his past two contests.

    • Ducks' Fowler Bags Two Assists In Game 5 Win

News: Cam Fowler picked up two assists in Sunday's series-clinching Game 5 win over the Flames.
Analysis: Cam Fowler's been having a solid postseason, notching five points and a plus-7 rating in nine games. He's logging over 20 minutes of ice time every game and is playing a key role on the Ducks' star-studded first power-play unit, where he racked up one of his assists Sunday. The two-way defenseman will have a lot on his plate in Round 3, as the surging Blackhawks have tons of offensive firepower.
    • Ducks' Fowler Notches Third Point Of Playoffs

News: Cam Fowler assisted on Corey Perry's third-period power-play goal in Thursday's Game 1 triumph over the Flames.
Analysis: That's three points in five playoff games for Cam Fowler, who previously wrapped up the third 30-point season of his career a few weeks earlier. Fowler lacks of the sniping ability of fellow blueliner Sami Vatanen, but he's arguably the Ducks' top two-way defenseman, which should routinely earn him around 19-to-22 minutes per game throughout the playoffs.
    • Ducks' Fowler Gets PP Assist In Game 2

News: Cam Fowler recorded a power-play assist in Saturday's Game 2 win over the Jets.
Analysis: The assist came when Cam Fowler's shot attempt deflected off Patrick Maroon's body about halfway through the third period. It was Fowler's first point since March 28.
    • Ducks' Fowler Nabs Another Helper

News: Cam Fowler assisted on Andrew Cogliano's eventual game-winner Saturday against the Islanders.
Analysis: He now has three assists in the last two games bringing his total to 27 on the season -- good enough to tie Ryan Kesler for second on the team. A late run could see him tie or better his career highs in both assists (30) and points (40).
    • Fowler's Assists Power Ducks' Comeback Win

News: Cam Fowler assisted on Corey Perry's game-tying goal in the last minute of the third period, then Ryan Getzlaf's overtime winner Thursday against Boston.
Analysis: Cam Fowler's offensive production has been down a couple ticks this year, as his 33 points in 74 contests have him a good bit short of last season's half-point-per-game pace. Still, he's a reasonable option for the back end of your fantasy blue line.
    • Ducks' Fowler To Return To Lineup

News: Cam Fowler will return to the Anaheim lineup Thursday against Boston, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Coach Bruce Boudreau made Cam Fowler a surprise healthy scratch in the team's last game Tuesday versus Columbus, after the blueliner had posted a minus-3 rating over his 19:31 of ice time in his previous outing against the Rangers. The Ducks are hoping a day out of the lineup was all Fowler needed to get recharged for the final batch of regular-season games. He'll pair up with Simon Despres in Thursday's match.
    • Ducks' Fowler Expected To Sit Tuesday

News: Cam Fowler is expected to be a healthy scratch Tuesday against the Blue Jackets, according to Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register.
Analysis: Cam Fowler, who has recorded 31 points in 73 games to date, is coming off a minus-3 effort in Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Rangers, so at this stage, it looks like he's on track to recharge his batteries in the press box on Tuesday.
