Predators' Roman Josi: Gains two helpers in losing effort

Josi picked up a power-play assist and an even-strength assist while going minus-1 Thursday in a loss to the Flyers. While Josi's put up points with consistency all year long, he'd hit a bit of a cooling period prior to Thursday's effort, having put up just four points in his last 10 games and no multi-point efforts since Dec. 8. He and Shea Weber continue to patrol the territory in front of Pekka Rinne for big chunks of every game, but the goalie's reduced effectiveness this season has caused a plus-minus dip for both star defensemen.

Predators' Roman Josi: Sizzling scoring pace entering All-Star break

Josi entered the All-Star break with four points in his last six games. He now has 35 points in 50 games and has a good chance to crack the 60-point barrier this season. Despite seeing roughly 1¿ minutes less in ice time this season compared to last (25:02 vs. 26:28), Josi remains on track to best the career-high 55 points he posted last year. He continues to thrive on the Preds' top defensive pairing with fellow blue line stud Shea Weber, and is a must-start in all fantasy formats whenever he takes to the ice. Use him well.

Predators' Roman Josi: Notches 10th goal of season vs. Wild

Josi scored his 10th goal of the season in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Wild. It was just his third point in his past eight games. After a torrid month of December (15 points in 15 games), Josi has hit a bit of a soft patch lately, and is now on pace to just slightly eclipse the 55 points he scored last season. That said, now that the Preds have upgraded their offense with the recent acquisition of Ryan Johansen, we think it's just a matter of time before he picks up the pace. Bottom line, Josi is part of the next wave of blue line fantasy studs and should always be in your lineup as long as he's healthy.

Predators' Roman Josi: Stays hot with two assists Monday

Josi earned two assists and fired six shots on goal in Monday's 5-3 win over the visiting Rangers. Josi has been all kinds of hot over the last 13 games, recording 14 points while firing 30 shots on goal. After last year's 55-point breakout campaign, Josi appears to be exceeding the lofty expectations with a scoring pace that would equate to 64 points should he keep up his current scoring pace. It'll be difficult, no doubt, but Josi has emerged as a legitimate stud blueliner worthy of being in the same discussion as the game's elite defensemen.

Predators' Roman Josi: Collects two assists in win

Josi scored the game-winning goal on the power play and had an assist in 23:21 of ice time Monday against Montreal. That's a three-game point streak for Josi, who has scored twice on the power play in his past three games. The 25-year-old is having a fantastic season on Nashville's blueline, tallying nine goals and 26 points in 34 games. Make sure he's in your lineup every game, because with five power-play goals on the season, the Swiss native is showing that he is one of the most lethal offensive blueliners in the game.

Josi recorded a power-play assist in 23:20 of ice time Saturday against the Wild. With 24 points in 33 games, Josi is now tied for sixth in the NHL in scoring among blueliners. Predators' Roman Josi: Pots two goals and gets in a fight Monday

Josi scored two goals, fired four shots on goal and picked up five PIM for fighting in Monday's 3-2 win over the Bruins. What a night for the Swiss blueliner, who sniped a pair of goals on the power play in addition to throwing down in a scrap with superpest Brad Marchand at 4:04 of the second period. Josi now has seven goals and 20 points -- seven of which have come in the last six games -- as he continues his push to best his career high of 55 points set last season.

Predators' Roman Josi: Productive showing Tuesday

Josi went plus-3 with a primary assist and five blocked shots in Tuesday night's 5-2 win over Arizona. Josi's 15th point of the season took place with the net empty but hey, it all counts the same. Given that he was on the ice for three Nashville goals Tuesday, Josi was able to trim his rating to minus-1 on the season, showing improvement on both ends of the ice.
