  • Isles' Ullstrom To Play In KHL

News: David Ullstrom has signed to play in the KHL, according to Islanders Point Blank.
Analysis: David Ullstrom had five points in 20 games for the Islanders this past season and while the numbers are far from great, he was also benched many times in favor of someone like Marty Reasoner who had no future with the team. It's something of a shame that the Isles lost a player as young as Ullstrom without knowing what they really had, but the Isles are also loaded with young talent ready to come up from the AHL and Ullstrom may have realized that making the squad out of training camp was going to be an uphill battle.

  • Isles' Ullstrom (Groin) Out 3-to-4 Weeks

News: David Ullstrom (groin) is expected to miss three-to-four weeks.
Analysis: The 23-year-old was presumably hurt during Thursday's game against the Lightning, and it sounds like he'll miss close to a month. Look for the Islanders to place David Ullstrom on IR and recall another winger for depth.

  • Islanders' Ullstrom Lights The Lamp

News: David Ullstrom scored his second goal of the season Sunday against the Jets.
Analysis: David Ullstrom has four points in five games, and has a four-game point streak. The 23-year-old doesn't have a ton of NHL experience yet, but this good start is a reason to keep an eye on him.
  • Islanders Send Ullstrom To AHL
