    • Will miss AHL Albany's season opener

News: Scott Wedgewood will miss AHL Albany's season opener Saturday against AHL Binghamton with a sprained ankle, Tom Gulitti of the The Record reports.
Analysis: Yann Danis is expected to get the start in net in Scott Wedgewood's absence, with Ken Appleby serving as the team's backup goaltender for the contest. Wedgewood's next opportunity to start will come Oct. 17 against AHL Toronto.
    • Devils' Wedgewood Inks Two-Year Deal

News: Scott Wedgewood signed a two-year, two-way, $1.175 million contract with the Devils on Monday, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid will likely return to his role as Cory Schneider's primary backup next season, with Scott Wedgewood assuming the role of the organization's primary AHL goaltender. Schneider or Kinkaid would likely have to suffer an injury for Wedgewood to get a look at the NHL level in 2015-16, but that certainly isn't out of the question. He was relatively solid with AHL Albany this season, going 13-14 with a 2.74 GAA and a .903 save percentage. He's only 22-years-old, so it would hardly be surprising if the Devils were to adopt Wedgewood as Schneider's primary backup after Kinkaid's deal expires at the end of the 2016-17 season.
    • Devils Send Wedgewood To Albany

News: Scott Wedgewood has been assigned to AHL Albany to start the upcoming season, The Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: This isn't too much of a surprise, as Scott Wedgewood entered camp as the No. 3 contender for the team's backup goaltending job behind Scott Clemmensen and Keith Kinkaid, one of whom will be joining him in Albany. Wedgewood, a former World Junior goalie for Canada, will see a good amount of ice time in the AHL and will likely be called up if the Devils sustain any injuries to their netminders.
    • Devils' Reassign Wedgewood To ECHL

News: Scott Wedgewood was reassigned to Trenton of the ECHL Tuesday, The Record reports.
Analysis: In 48 games for Trenton this season, Scott Wedgewood has allowed 147 goals while recording 1,329 saves. He has an overall record of 20-22, with a .900 save percentage.
    • Devils Promote Wedgewood To AHL

News: The Devils promoted Scott Wedgewood to AHL Albany from the ECHL's Trenton Devils the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: Scott Wedgewood wasn't exactly lighting it up in the ECHL, with a 17-21-3-2 record and a GAA of 3.24, but the Devils want to see him at the AHL level while Keith Kinkaid is up with the big club. When Martin Brodeur (back) returns to the fold, Kinkaid will head back to the AHL, which could push Wedgewood back to Trenton.
