Wild's Jordan Schroeder: Doubtful Wednesday with illness

Schroeder has come down with an illness and likely will not play Wednesday night against the Canucks, per Wild head coach Mike Yeo. As a result of Schroeder's probable absence from Wednesday's contest, the Wild have reportedly recalled Christoph Bertschy from AHL Iowa. Assuming Schroeder does miss out Wednesday, his next chance to lace up for a game will be Friday against the Jets.

Wild's Jordan Schroeder: Staying with Minnesota

Schroeder will stay with the Wild after injuries to Tyler Graovac and Justin Fontaine and have a prominent role on the Wild's third line, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. When given a shot for regular ice time with the Wild last season in February he provided a spark with seven points in ten games. He has some potential as a fill-in option in deeper leagues as a result.

Wild's Jordan Schroeder: Recalled on emergency basis Saturday

The Wild have made Schroeder an emergency call-up ahead of Saturday night's contest with the Blues. Minnesota is literally hurting at the forward spot, with winger Justin Fontaine week-to-week with an undisclosed injury he sustained Friday against Chicago, and center Tyler Graovac reportedly not close to returning due to a groin ailment. Schroeder is a nice option to fill in, however, as he is a speedy skater with great hands and a cannon for a shot. In eight games with AHL Iowa prior to Saturday's promotion, he contributed two goals and three assists, giving a preview of his offensive potential.
