The former first-round pick, who has tallied 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) in 49 games this season, is expected to be paired with Andy Greene in Tuesday's tilt.

Devils' Adam Larsson: Misses practice, still could play

Larsson missed practice Monday due to an illness, but coach John Hynes indicated after practice that he's "planning on" him playing Tuesday against the Penguins, Rich Chere of The Star-Ledger reports. Larsson and fellow blueliner David Schlemko both missed practice Monday because of illness, and an absence from either of the two Tuesday could prompt a recall from the club's AHL affiliate with only six defensemen currently on the roster. Devils' Adam Larsson: Delivers just second multi-point game of season

Larsson picked up assists on both the Devils' goals in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Blues. That marks only his second multi-point effort of the year, with the other having come way back on Oct. 20 -- the sixth game of the season. Larsson's now at a whopping 10 points in 44 games, continuing yet another campaign in which he's failed to live up to his billing as the No. 4 pick in the 2011 draft.

Devils' Adam Larsson: Scores first goal, gets assist in win Tuesday

Larsson scored the game-winner in overtime for his first goal of the season and added an assist in Tuesday's win against the Coyotes. After going scoreless in his first five games of the season, Larsson broke out with two points, the most important being the goal to seal the win for New Jersey. The young Swede has really taken off alongside Andy Greene on the Devils' top defensive pairing and finally has something to show for his improved play. Larsson played 23:55 and finished plus-2 with three blocks. He looked more involved on offense, so perhaps we should expect an uptick in scoring from Larsson moving forward.
