Canadiens' Victor Bartley: Assigned to minors Wednesday

Bartley has been sent to AHL St. John's, Amanda Stein of TSN 690 reports. Bartley is a new acquisition for the Canadiens, coming over from the Predators, and technically the Coyotes, after they packaged him in trade that saw Jarred Tinordi wind up in Arizona. According to Stein, the plan is for Bartley to play in minor-league games Wednesday and Friday. Beyond that, the Canadiens' plans for Bartley are unclear, but he seems to be an organizational depth piece at this juncture.

Canadiens' Victor Bartley: Recalled from AHL St. John's

Bartley has been recalled from AHL St. John's and will be in St. Louis for Saturday's game against the Blues. It's been a busy day for Bartley. His name was included in a deal that initially had him packing his bags for Arizona, but then he was dealt a second time to the Habs (along with John Scott) for Jarred Tinordi. Montreal has done quite a bit of roster shuffling in the past 24 hours and following a 3-7-0 record over the past 10 games, but it remains to be seen how often Bartley will be utilized. This will be an adjustment for Bartley as well, given that the Predators are the only other NHL team he's played for since entering the league in 2012-13.

Canadiens' Victor Bartley: Traded twice Friday

Bartley was first traded to Arizona for Stefan Elliott, and then to Montreal (along with John Scott) for Jarred Tinordi, Darren Dreger of TSN reports. Bartley has spent parts of the last four seasons in the NHL with Nashville, including one game this season, recording one goal and 23 points in 112 games. It's unclear where Bartley will fit into the Habs defensive set up, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him sent down to AHL St. John's in the immediate future.

Predators' Victor Bartley: Reassigned to AHL Milwaukee

Bartley cleared waivers and was reassigned to AHL Milwaukee on Monday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports. Bartley was on Nashville's roster for the entire 2015-16 season to this point, but he was a healthy scratch in 22 of 23 games. The 27-year old will look to earn a recall to the NHL with the ice time he will receive in Milwaukee.

Predators' Victor Bartley: Goes on waivers

Bartley was placed on waivers by the Predators on Sunday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. Bartley hasn't seen any action in a while, so it's not a huge surprise that he's now been placed on waivers. Assuming he goes unclaimed, the blueliner will likely be sent to AHL Milwaukee, where he should see more consistent playing time.

    Predators' Victor Bartley: Riding Pine

Bartley sat out as a healthy scratch for the 11th time in 12 games Thursday against Minnesota. This should come as no surprise, as Bartley regularly watched from the pressbox last season, playing in just 37 games. That said, he was fairly productive whenever he did play, notching 10 assists along the way. He's a tough fantasy recommendation at the current time, but if he ever does manage to secure himself a spot in the lineup, he could be worth owning in deeper formats.

  • Preds' Bartley Riding Pine

News: Victor Bartley was a healthy scratch for the ninth straight game Tuesday against the Canadiens.
Analysis: Since the return of Ryan Ellis from a lower-body injury earlier this month, Victor Bartley has not been able to secure himself a spot in the lineup. He's currently the No. 7 defenseman on the Preds' depth chart right now, and doesn't figure to see any game action anytime soon. Needless to say, he should not be in anyone's fantasy lineup for the time being.
  • Rare Assist For Preds' Bartley

News: Victor Bartley saw just 9:40 worth of ice time during Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Devils, but assisted on Mike Fisher's second-period goal for his 10th point of the season.
Analysis: While it's good to see Victor Bartley crack the scoresheet, his stock has really fallen since Cody Franson was re-acquired from Toronto via trade last last month. Previously, Bartley had been averaging 13-14 minutes per game, however in the last three contests his ice time has been less than 10 minutes per night, including just 4:49 against the Rangers on March 2. With Franson back in the fold, Bartley is now occupying a spot on the Preds' third defensive pairing alongside Seth Jones, making him irrelevant in all but the deepest fantasy formats.
  • Preds' Bartley Expected Scratch Thursday

News: Victor Bartley is expected to be a healthy scratch Thursday against Minnesota, the Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Although no formal announcement has been made thus far, Victor Bartley was on the ice for an extended period following the morning skate - typically an indication of a player's planned absence from the lineup later that day. If Bartley doesn't dress, expect Ryan Ellis to rejoin the lineup after missing the previous 21 games with a lower-body injury.
  • Preds' Bartley Benched

News: Victor Bartley was a healthy scratch for Sunday's 2-1 shootout win over the Sabres.
Analysis: With the Preds' having re-acquired Cody Franson from Toronto via trade last week, Victor Bartley - who has just nine assists in 31 games this season - will now be competing for the Preds' sixth blue line spot with rookie Anthony Bitetto. Furthermore, once Ryan Ellis and Anton Volchenkov return from their respective lower-body injuries, Bartley could wind up watching even more games from the press box. Accordingly, he does not make for a great fantasy recommendation at this time.
