      Canucks' Alexandre Grenier: Sent back to AHL Utica

      Grenier was assigned to AHL Utica following Wednesday's game, Canucks play-by-play announcer Jon Abbott reports. Grenier made his NHL debut Wednesday, but his first stint was brief, as was removed from the roster to open a spot for the impending return of Brandon Prust. Grenier figures to return to Vancouver at some point later this season.

      Canucks' Alexandre Grenier: Will debut Wednesday

      Grenier will make his NHL debut against the Jets, The Province reports. Grenier was recalled Wednesday, and with Radim Vrbata ruled out for the contest, he's expected to slot right into the lineup on the second line alongside Chris Higgins and Jared McCann. The 24-year-old has tallied seven points through 13 games with AHL Utica so far, and will look to have a quick start with the Canucks and notch his first career NHL point Wednesday against a Jets club allowing the fourth-most (3.21) goals per game this season.

      Canucks' Alexandre Grenier: Called up from AHL Utica

      Grenier was called up from AHL Utica on Wednesday, Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun reports. In 13 games in the AHL, Grenier has two goals and seven points with 14 penalty minutes and a minus-3 rating. The 2011 third-round pick has been a strong point producer in the AHL and had a tremendous AHL playoffs last season, scoring 15 points in 23 games. He replaces Hunter Shinkaruk, who was sent back down to the AHL to keep him playing regular minutes.
