Stars' Antoine Roussel: Ends goal drought Tuesday

Roussel brought his eight-game goalless streak to an end Tuesday with an unassisted marker against Winnipeg. In his last six outings, Roussel has taken full advantage of increased ice time, averaging 15:22, to put himself on the scoresheet by recording a goal and three assists over that span. Unfortunately, the winger has also logged significant minutes in the box, leading the Stars with 69 PIM for the season. Usually the one serving the penalty, don't expect to see the 26-year-old helping out on the power play.

Stars' Antoine Roussel: Assists in loss

Roussel posted an assist and a single shot in Saturday's loss to the Sharks. The most disappointing part of Roussel's game, from a fantasy perspective, has been the lack of penalty minutes recently. He has just four penalty minutes over his last nine games. That's nothing for a guy who is consistently near the top of the league in the category.

Stars' Antoine Roussel: Tallies in loss

Roussel scored on his lone shot of the game in a 6-2 loss to the Rangers on Tuesday. That's Roussel's seventh goal of the season and has him on pace to match his production over the last couple of years. If you're rostering him, the only disappointing thing at midseason should be that his penalty minutes, though he has the eighth most in the league, look as though they could slide back again this year.

Stars' Antoine Roussel: Posting penalty minutes

Roussel had nine penalty minutes and no shots in Saturday's loss to the Blues. Roussel, when he doesn't give you offense, will get you penalty minutes. His 47 on the season are 13th in the NHL. He's one of just four players of the top 16 in penalty minutes to have at least 10 points on the season. In the right format, he continues to be very valuable.

Stars' Antoine Roussel: Pots third of the year

Roussel had a goal, a plus-1 rating and a pair of shots in Thursday's win over Winnipeg. Roussel is often rostered because he provides a ton of penalty minutes and much more offense than most guys with his PIM numbers often do. But his game has been on the cleaner side over the last five games. He has just a single minor penalty in that time. His 26 minutes through 15 games ranks 14th in the league.

Stars' Antoine Roussel: Available to play Tuesday

Roussel (upper body) will be available Tuesday's tilt against the Maple Leafs but will be a coach's decision, Mark Stepneski of reports. The upper-body injury that cost Roussel the past two games appears to be behind him, but coach Lindy Ruff indicated it was possible he'd scratch the winger anyway. If he doesn't slot back into the lineup, his next chance will come Thursday against the Jets.

Stars' Antoine Roussel: Not part of line rushes

Roussel (upper body) took the ice for warmups, but wasn't part of the team's line rushes, indicating he will sit out Sunday against the Red Wings, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. Roussel was expected to rejoin the lineup for the contest, but it seems as though he's not quite ready yet. Alex Hemsky will instead draw into the lineup in his place, playing left wing alongside Vernon Fiddler and Colton Sceviour. Roussel's next chance to return will come Tuesday against the Maple Leafs.

    Stars' Antoine Roussel: Out Friday

Roussel was held out of Friday's tilt against the Hurricanes with an upper-body injury,'s Mark Stepneski reports. With Ales Hemsky (hip) returning to the Stars' lineup Friday against Carolina, it was initially believed that Roussel was simply a healthy scratch for the contest. However, the team later revealed Roussel is actually dealing with an upper-body injury, which would have held him out of Friday's game regardless of Hemsky's availability. Roussel is being listed as day-to-day with the ailment, meaning he could draw back into Dallas' lineup as soon as Sunday against the Red Wings.

Stars' Antoine Roussel: Banner day against San Jose

Roussel posted a goal, two assists and a season-high 16:01 of ice time in Saturday's win over the Sharks. It was a great game for Roussel, showcasing his offensive ability. The season-high ice time may have a little bit to do with him staying out of the penalty box. It was a rare instance of Roussel getting zero penalty minutes. If you're rostering him, you're probably banking on those penalty minutes. Enjoy the offense today, the penalties will be back soon enough.

Stars' Antoine Roussel: Plays his game in loss

Roussel had an assist, a plus-1 rating, seven penalty minutes and a shot through 15:27 of ice time in Saturday's loss to the Avs. Roussel did everything you'd want from him, which includes leading the team in penalty minutes in a game that got a little rough as the Stars began to get blown out in the third.
