Avalanche's Jarome Iginla: Helps out on both goals in win

Iginla notched the primary assist on both Colorado goals in Thursday's 2-1 victory over the Bolts. At 38 years old, Iggy's not the spectacular, point-per-game scorer he once was, but the wily Albertan has still been a fairly steady presence on the scoresheet. Interestingly, Thursday's points were only his second and third of the year so far at even strength.

Avalanche's Jarome Iginla: Picks up two points in loss

Iginla scored his third goal of the season and had an assist in Saturday's loss to Columbus. With five points in seven games, Iginla has gotten off to a decent start this season. He's only fired 12 pucks on net, though, so he'll need to shoot more if he wants to continue finding twine. Locked into a top-six role, Iginla is a reliable point producer and power-play contributor.

Avalanche's Jarome Iginla: Notches assist in loss

Iginla collected an assist in a 2-1 loss to the Kings on Sunday. Iginla was able to tally his first assist of the season on a powerplay, making the secondary pass that led to Matt Duchene's first goal of the season. It was Iginla's third point of the season, all of which have come on the power play, and was able to finish the night with one shot and a minus-1 rating.

    • Top line to start season

News: Jarome Iginla started in the final preseason game and is likely going to be on the top line alongside Blake Comeau and Matt Duchene.
Analysis: The 38-year-old was dealing with a hip injury during a piece of the preseason, but seems to have fully recovered from that. Playing in all 82 games for the Avs last season, Jarome Iginla scored 29 goals and tallied 30 assists while logging more than 18 minutes of ice time a night. Playing on the top line should keep him on the ice quite a bit, but Duchene's shoot-first mentality could hamper Iginla's production a bit.
    • Avs' Iginla Skates Monday

News: Jarome Iginla (hip) did not participate in practice Monday, but was able to skate on his own earlier in the day, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Jarome Iginla suffered a hip injury last week, but it appears as though he is nearing a return. With Colorado's regular season beginning Oct. 8, the club may play it cautiously with the 38-year-old, but he appears to be on track to return before the end of the preseason.
    • Avs' Iginla Scores Two PPG In Win

News: Jarome Iginla netted a pair of power-play goals in Saturday's win over the Blackhawks.
Analysis: That's 29 goals and 59 points in 82 games for Jarome Iginla, who fell just shy of reaching the 30-goal and 60-point mark for the second straight season. The veteran finished the season strong and helped the Avalanche win three straight games to close out the season. At 37-years of age, Iggy's still got it.
    • Avs' Iginla Collects Trio Of Assists

News: Jarome Iginla dished out three assists in Saturday's win over the Sabres.
Analysis: That's a three-game point streak for Jarome Iginla, who has been a point-producing machine of late. The 37-year-old has seven goals and 13 points in his last 12 games, giving him 55 points in 75 games on the season. Skating on the top line with Matt Duchene, Iginla now has 26 goals this season, putting him among the league's top-20 goal-scorers. With a whopping 13 shots on goal in his last three games, the red-hot Iginla should be rolled out with confidence right now.
    • Avs' Iginla Enjoying Productive March

News: Jarome Iginla potted one of five Avalanche goals in Thursday's 5-2 defeat of the Coyotes.
Analysis: Jarome Iginla has gotten off to a superb start to March, tallying a point in all but one of the team's seven games, which perhaps not coincidentally, was the only game the Avs have lost this month. All told, Iginla has tallied four goals (two on the power play) and three assists during the month, making it highly beneficial for fantasy owners to keep him active. The Avs' disappointing season has prevented Iginla from holding up the same sort of lofty plus/minus rating that he did with the President's Trophy-winning Bruins last season, but his point production remains roughly in line with what he achieved in 2013-14.
    • Avs' Iginla Collects Two Helpers

News: Jarome Iginla picked up two assists and fired five shots on goal in Sunday's win over Minnesota.
Analysis: That's a three-game point streak for Jarome Iginla, who has three goals and five points in his last five games. Skating on the second line and top power-play unit, Iginla has managed 21 goals and 46 points in 66 games this season. His 90-point days are over, but he's still a solid fantasy contributor.
    • Avs' Iginla Nets 20th Goal

News: Jarome Iginla opened the scoring against Pittsburgh Wednesday, potting his 20th goal of the season in a 3-1 win.
Analysis: The tally officially gives the 18-year NHL vet his 16th 20-goal campaign, with his sophomore season in 1997-98 and lockout-shortened 2012-13 being the only two years he failed to reach that plateau. Jarome Iginla continues to be one of the more dependable goal scorers around -- even at the age of 37 -- and still provides plenty of value in other areas with 23 assists, 36 PIM and 143 SOG.
