• Jagr Re-Signs With Florida

News: Jaromir Jagr signed a one-year contract Sunday that will keep him with Panthers next season, TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: Jaromir Jagr notched a total of 17 goals and 30 assists over 77 games combined between New Jersey and Florida this past season. While the 43-year-old winger may not be as fleet as he once was, he retains a degree of effectiveness at this stage of his career, with his strength, offensive savvy and ability to protect the puck.
  • Jagr Leads Floridian Kitties To Win

News: Jaromir Jagr scored the game-winning goal on the power play and added an assist in Saturday's win over New Jersey.
Analysis: He and the Floridian kitties have been a near perfect fit, as evidenced by his strong production (18 points in 20 games) and his positive influence on the many kittens on the squad. Youngsters Jonathan Huberdeau and Nik Bjugstad had grown their games playing with the grizzled vet and Jaromir Jagr has really loved his time in the Sunshine State. They want him back next season and he likes the club climate. Win-win.
  • Panthers' Jagr Wins First-Star Honors

News: Jaromir Jagr grabbed two assists and the game's first star Thursday in a win over Boston.
Analysis: The two points pushed him to an even 1,800 for his career, untying Jaromir Jagr with Ron Francis; the Czech winger now has fourth place on the all-time list to himself. Next up, assuming Jagr suits up again next year (and it sounds like he almost certainly will): Gordie Howe's third-place 1,850 points.
  • Jagr Tallies Two Points In Panthers' Win

News: Jaromir Jagr contributed a goal and an assist to Thursday's 6-1 demolition of the Hurricanes.
Analysis: His hot play for the Panthers continues, as Jaromir Jagr now owns five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 16 games since coming to Florida. It was looking like his career was coming to an end while he was struggling to a half-point-per-game pace with New Jersey, but now that Jagr looks revitalized, it seems like he'll return once more next year as he takes aim at the No. 3 and No. 2 spots on the NHL's all-time scoring list.
  • Panthers' Jagr Pots Two In Win

News: Jaromir Jagr potted a pair of goals -- one on the power play -- in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Senators.
Analysis: Jaromir Jagr has been on a roll recently as he's now collected seven points (two goals) in his last six contests. The 43-year-old seems to be fitting in well with his new club as he's picked up 12 points and sports a plus-11 rating in 14 games since being acquired by the Panthers. While his production still remains down overall, the winger has been able to work his way on to the scoresheet consistently of late.
  • Panthers Want To Re-Sign Jagr

News: The Panthers are interested in re-signing Jaromir Jagr, who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, according to a report on NHL.com that cited the Miami Herald.
Analysis: Kitties' general manager Dale Tallon confirmed he met with Jaromir Jagr's agent in Montreal before his team took on the Habs; both parties agreed to wait until the offseason to continue discussions. Jagr said as recently as Friday that he was excited by the team's young talent and predicted they would be contending for a Cup within two years.
  • Panthers' Jagr Moves Up On Career Goals List

News: Jaromir Jagr scored the 718th goal of his career -- but just his 13th of the season -- and added an assist Thursday in a 3-1 win over Detroit.
Analysis: The goal untied him with the great Phil Esposito and sent Jaromir Jagr into sole possession of fifth place on the all-time goals list. If he continues his career past this season, it's not impossible that he could pass fourth-place Marcel Dionne (731 goals) and third-place Brett Hull (741) before all's said and done, though at age 43, Jagr is clearly slowing down. That said, he does have seven points in nine games since joining the Panthers -- not bad for an old man.
  • Two-Point Evening For Panthers' Jagr

News: Jaromir Jagr didn't record a shot on goal, but handed out two assists and went plus-1 on Thursday against the Jets.
Analysis: After totaling just 29 points and a minus-10 rating in 57 games for the Devils this season, Jaromir Jagr's responded since being traded by picking up five points and a plus-2 rating in his first five games as a Panther. It's hard to expect the NHL's oldest player to keep it up, though.
  • Panthers' Jagr (Illness) Will Play Saturday

News: Updating a previous note, Jaromir Jagr (illness) will be in the lineup Saturday against the Islanders, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Jaromir Jagr was considered questionable with the same illness that's passing through much of the Panthers' roster, but he's been given the green light shortly before Saturday's puck drop.
  • Panthers' Jagr (Illness) Won't Play Saturday

News: Jaromir Jagr (illnesss) will not play Saturday against the Islanders, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: The veteran, who missed Thursday's game against the Stars, is nearly recovered from the stomach flu that has floated around the Panthers' locker room, but it looks like he'll require one more game off. He'll be joined in the press box by Tomas Kopecky and Aaron Ekblad, both of whom are also out with the virus.
