• Avs' Street Reassigned To Minors

News: Ben Street was reassigned to AHL Lake Erie on Thursday, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Ben Street was activated from injured reserve earlier this week and made his first appearance since Nov. 25 in Tuesday's loss to the Hurricanes. The Avalanche never planned on having Street stay with the team on a long-term basis, however, and after assessing his performance Tuesday, coach Patrick Roy determined he would be better served heading to Lake Erie. Dennis Everberg was recalled from the minors in a corresponding move.
  • Avs Activate Street From IR

News: Ben Street (hand) was activated from IR prior to Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes.
Analysis: He'll reenter the lineup for the first time since Nov. 25. Ben Street is little more than fourth-line depth for the Avs and probably can't be counted on for more than the occasional handful of penalty minutes most nights.
  • Avs' Street (Hand) Gets In Full Practice Friday

News: Ben Street (hand) logged a full practice Friday, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Coach Patrick Roy said after the session that Ben Street might be activated from injured reserve next week. The team hasn't determined if he'll stay with the Avalanche or report to AHL Lake Erie once healthy.
  • Avs' Street Practicing Without Contact

News: Ben Street (hand) practiced Thursday but was unable to take contact, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Ben Street hasn't played since Nov. 25 due to the injury, which was more than likely a fracture. At the time of his call-up, the Avalanche were dealing with an assortment of injuries at forward, but his services might not be needed by the time he gets back to full health. If that's the case, expect the Avalanche to assign Street to the minors once he's activated from IR.
  • Avs' Street Placed On IR

News: Ben Street has been placed on IR with a hand injury.
Analysis: Ben Street was ruled out for seven-to-10 days back on Nov. 30, but coach Patrick Roy may have opted to scratch him over the last few games had he been at full health. The Avalanche shouldn't have too much difficulty covering for his absence in the bottom-six until he's ready to go, perhaps at some point next week.
  • Avs Recall Street

News: Ben Street was recalled from AHL Lake Erie on Friday.
Analysis: Ben Street has played in just 19 career NHL games, but will likely get another shot with the news that Brad Stuart, Dennis Evergerg and Jamie McGinn were all placed on injured reserve. In his 19 games, the 27-year-old has two total assists and a minus-3 rating.
  • Avs Waive Street

News: Ben Street (undisclosed) was waived by the Avalanche on Thursday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
Analysis: Ben Street was placed on Colorado's non-roster injury list after suffering the undisclosed ailment in training camp, but now that he's healthy, he'll be forced to pass through waivers before reporting to AHL Lake Erie. The 27-year-old Street has appeared in just 19 career NHL games and looks like he's only an organizational depth player at this stage of his career.
