    • Rangers Place Megna On Waivers

News: Jayson Megna had been placed on waivers, reports Andrew Gross of The Record.
Analysis: Due in large part to a pair of goals in the team's preseason debut, the coaching staff held onto Jayson Megna until the final roster cuts. While the team brass is rumored to be exploring trade options at multiple positions, for now, it seems head coach Alain Vigneault will stick with veteran forward Tanner Glass. The 25-year-old Megna will join Hartford of the AHL if and when he passes through waivers.
    • Rangers Sign Megna For Depth

News: Jayson Megna signed a contract with the Rangers on Wednesday.
Analysis: The 25-year-old Jayson Megna is likely just a minor-league depth piece for the Rangers. He appeared in 12 games for the Penguins in 2014-15 but spent most of his time with their AHL affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, posting 26 goals and 39 points in 63 games. Expect him to open the coming season at AHL Hartford.
    • Pens Reassign Megna

News: Jayson Megna was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: With the Penguins getting Steve Downie (illness) back into their lineup Friday, Jayson Megna headed to the press box as a healthy scratch. Since an opening wasn't likely to exist for the winger now that the Penguins are gradually returning to full health, Megna will head back to the minors to pick up more ice time.
    • Penguins Recall Megna

News: Jayson Megna was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: Even after a timely three-day break in the schedule for Christmas, the Penguins are still quite banged up at the forward spot. As a result, Jayson Megna will again join the big club, with whom he has already suited up for in nine contests this season, contributing one point. He's expected to slot in on the team's third line Saturday against the Capitals.
    • Pittsburgh Reassigns Megna

News: Jayson Megna was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday, Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: While the four penalties and eight PIM that Jayson Megna collected in Friday's win over the Flames were nice for fantasy purposes, it routinely put the Penguins in a bind during the game, much to the chagrin of coach Mike Johnston. For those transgressions, Megna will head back to the minors, with Bryan Rust getting the call to the parent club in his stead.
    • Pens' Megna Leaves His Mark Tuesday

News: Jayson Megna skated with Evgeni Malkin and Blake Comeau on Tuesday, replacing Chris Kunitz on the team's second line against New Jersey.
Analysis: He collected an assist, finishing plus-1 with four hits and three shots on goal. Jayson Megna has the speed to keep up with Malkin and he could see continued top-six time for the next couple weeks with Kunitz (foot) sidelined.
    • Penguins Recall Megna

News: Jayson Megna was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday.
Analysis: Jayson Megna's call-up suggests that one of the Pens' 12 forwards may have sustained an injury Friday that might jeopardize his availability for Saturday's rematch with the Islanders. The 24-year-old had seven goals and two assists over eight games in the AHL.
    • Penguins Re-Assign Megna To AHL

News: Jayson Megna was re-assigned to AHL Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
Analysis: Jayson Megna was recalled by the Penguins on Thursday but didn't appear in a game. He will head back to AHL Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he has three points (two goals and one assist) in nine games this season.
    • Penguins Recall Megna On Thursday

News: The Penguins recalled Jayson Megna from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.
Analysis: Jayson Megna, who appeared in 36 games with the Penguins last season, recorded two goals and an assist in nine games with WBS during the current campaign. He will be the 13th forward on the roster, so it remains to be seen if he will enter the lineup or serve primarily as the extra forward.
