Canadiens' Greg Pateryn: In Friday's active lineup

Pateryn was activated for Friday night's game and had 13:48 TOI in a 6-4 loss to Buffalo. Pateryn found himself on the ice after Jeff Petry (lower body) and Nathan Beaulieu (lower body) were ruled out. Beaulieu is with the team on its three-game road trip and could get back into the lineup at some point -- perhaps as soon as the team's next game Monday night in Arizona. Given that Pateryn didn't register a hit or a blocked shot, head coach Michel Therrien will likely to defer to Beaulieu if he can get in some ice time between now and Monday.

Canadiens' Greg Pateryn: Expected to play Friday

Pateryn is expected to be in the active lineup Friday night against the Sabres, Hockey Inside Out reports. Pateryn has been a healthy scratch the last 12 games, but with Jeff Petry (lower body) not on the trip and Nathan Beaulieu (lower body) having missed practice Thursday, Friday looks like an ideal spot for Pateryn. If he's active, Pateryn will be on the third defensive pairing.

Canadiens' Greg Pateryn: Will start Saturday

Canadiens' Greg Pateryn: Back in active lineup

Pateryn was back in the active lineup Friday night after being a healthy scratch Wednesday. He took Alexei Emelin's spot on the third defensive pairing and led Montreal with three hits in 13:43 of ice time. Emelin had returned Wednesday after a five-game absence due to a lower-body injury, but was pulled from the lineup the very next game and is being considered a healthy scratch. We'll get to see if Pateryn remains in the active lineup ahead of Emelin when the Canadiens host the Devils on Saturday.

Canadiens' Greg Pateryn: Healthy scratch Wednesday

Pateryn will be a healthy scratch Wednesday night against the Rangers, Steve Zipay of Newsday reports. Pateryn will watch the game from the press box as blueliner Alexei Emelin reportedly is set to return from a lower-body injury. Pateryn has not recorded a point in 25 career games at the NHL level, though he does tend to do the dirty work without the puck and uses his 6-foot-2, 222 pound frame to outmuscle the opposition when he does see the ice.

Canadiens' Greg Pateryn: Fills in for Emelin

Pateryn filled in for the injured Alexei Emelin (lower body) in Saturday night's 6-1 win over Colorado. He had four hits and a couple of give-aways in 13:52 of ice time. This was Pateryn's first game of the season as it's been hard for guys to crack the active lineup during Montreal's quick start to the season.

Canadiens' Greg Pateryn: Recalled by Canadiens on Sunday

Pateryn was recalled by the Canadiens on Sunday, Renaud Lavoie reports. Lavoie was sent down to the AHL for a conditioning stint last Tuesday after spending the season as a regular healthy scratch. If Montreal is calling him up now, there could be a chance it has a spot for him.
