Kings' Marian Gaborik: Strikes in OT against Sharks

Gaborik scored the overtime winning goal Sunday against the Sharks. It was a perfect snipe from Gaborik, who beat Martin Jones on a breakaway. It was the first goal in 11 games for the 33-year-old, as Gaborik has struggled with inconsistency this season, managing just nine goals and 18 points in 48 games. He's fired 128 shots on goal and is skating on the top line, but Gaborik has gone through too many cold stretches this season to be fully trusted in anything but deep leagues.

Kings' Marian Gaborik: Finds the empty net

Gaborik scored an empty-net goal and garnered an assist against Montreal on Thursday. Gaborik has been off to a slow start this season compared to his 47 point 2014-15 season. This year, the 33-year-old has just 12 points in 31 games. Despite averaging almost two minutes of power-play ice time per game on the Kings' second unit, the winger has just one point with the extra attacker.

Kings' Marian Gaborik: Colder than molasses in January

Gaborik scored his sixth goal of the season in the Kings' 2-1 loss to the Sabres on Saturday night. He's been firing trucks of pucks at opposing netminders, but he's been hitting them square in the chest more often than not. Four of Gaborik's goals have come in the last nine games, but that's pathetic output for a guy who used to be among the league's elite snipers. Keep him stapled to the pine until there are real signs of life.

Kings' Marian Gaborik: Scores twice to lead Kings past Blackhawks

Gaborik netted a pair of goals, including the overtime winner, Saturday against Chicago. Both goals were assisted by playmaker Anze Kopitar, as Gaborik has now scored three goals in his last three games. While he's stuck at five goals and seven points on the season, Gaborik has fired 12 shots on goal in his last three games, so expect the goal scoring to continue, especially if he can stick on that top line with Kopitar.

Kings' Marian Gaborik: Notches two points in win

Gaborik scored his second goal of the season and added an assist in Saturday's win over Edmonton. Even though he's skating on the top line right now, Gaborik has had a horrendous start to the season, managing just four points through 17 games. His two points Saturday were his first points in eight games and it also marked his first multi-point game of the season. A sign things could start to get better is the fact Gaborik has recorded three shots on goal in three of his last four games. The sniper scored 27 times in 69 games in 2014-15 and is better than what he's shown this season thus far. Don't give up on him yet.

Kings' Marian Gaborik: Scoring slump continues

Gaborik has just one point in his last seven games and just two points in twelve games this season after another quiet game in a 3-0 win Tuesday. Gaborik has managed five shots in each of his last two games so perhaps things will turn around soon but it's been a struggle so far to start the season.

  • Healthy to start year after sluggish preseason

News: Marian Gaborik, who registered just one point in three preseason games, will open the season on the team's top line.
Analysis: Marian Gaborik is healthy to start the season and which is easily the best takeaway from his preseason. He'll look to build off of last year's 27-goal effort alongside Anze Kopitar on the Kings' top line.
  • Gaborik Leads Kings' Onslaught Thursday

News: Marian Gaborik had two goals and an assist in an 8-2 win Thursday against Edmonton.
Analysis: The Kings have been making a late-season charge for the playoffs, but Marian Gaborik had been held off the scoresheet in three straight before busting out Thursday. This hasn't been a huge season for the veteran sniper -- he's got 25 goals, but a relatively modest 45 points in 64 games -- but the important thing is that he's been able to stay mostly healthy. Gabby was a huge contributor in the playoffs last year, but the Kings haven't locked down their postseason spot yet.
  • Kings' Gaborik Collects Two Points

News: Marian Gaborik dished out a pair of assists in Monday's 3-1 win over the Devils.
Analysis: Marian Gaborik seems to have ended his brief dry spell as he's now followed up a three game pointless streak by rattling off three points in his last two contests. The 33-year-old has now eclipsed the 40-point plateau for the first time in three seasons, and should be a solid option down the stretch provided he avoids another cold streak.
  • Kings' Gaborik Gets Goal, But Goes Minus-3 In Loss

News: Marian Gaborik recorded a power-play goal, but went minus-3 in Saturday's loss to the Canucks.
Analysis: Marian Gaborik ripped off four goals and an assist over six games to begin March, but has since quieted down, as Saturday's tally represented his only point of the last four games. When he's not scoring, Gaborik's relatively low SOG totals and his minimal production in the hit and PIM categories render him essentially nonexistent in the fantasy realm, making it wise to bench him during such dry spells.
