• Panthers' Barkov Picks Up An Assist In Loss

News: Aleksander Barkov tallied an assist in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Canadiens.
Analysis: The second-overall pick in 2013 has improved steadily over last year, picking up 34 points (15 goals and 19 assists) while improving his shooting percentage to 12.5 percent and logging heavy ice time for a forward. The 19-year-old still has plenty of room to grow and the chemistry with his teammates will only improve as they continue to play together. Aleksander Barkov is a great add in dynasty leagues, but has less value for the rest of this season.
  • Panthers' Barkov Nabs Two Points In Rout

News: Aleksander Barkov tallied a goal and an assist Thursday in a 6-1 whipping of the Hurricanes.
Analysis: After a three-game point streak, he fell off the scoresheet in two straight before bouncing back Thursday. With only 35 points on the season, Aleksander Barkov hasn't yet fully found his stride, but the 19-year-old is certainly making progress, and he's got some of the highest upside in the league.
  • Panthers' Barkov: Three-Game Streak And Warming Up

News: Aleksander Barkov's point streak stands at three games and five points (two goals, three assists) after he potted two goals, one of which came on the power play, in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Canadiens.
Analysis: He has nine points in his last 10 games after getting 22 in his first 54. It's easy to forget this guy is still a teenager -- his best is clearly ahead. Take advantage of this spurt and plan for bigger and better things next season.
  • Barkov Tallies Two Helpers For Panthers

News: Aleksander Barkov notched two assists, a plus-2 rating and two PIM in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Leafs.
Analysis: Aleksander Barkov hasn't grown his game very much this year, but he is on a nice late-season run, having picked up five points in the last five games. He and the Panthers will face a much tougher Canadian -- or should we say Canadien -- team their next time out, though, so daily leaguers may not want to bank on this trend continuing Saturday.
  • Panthers' Barkov Scores In A Loss On Tuesday

News: Aleksander Barkov found the back of the net for the 12th time this season in a 3-2 loss on Tuesday to the Canadiens.
Analysis: Aleksander Barkov has three points in his last five games while posting a plus-2. The 19-year-old logged to most minutes of any forward, playing 19:50 while winning 10-of-16 face-offs. The former second-overall pick has plenty of value down the line and is starting to realize his potential while translating that in to on-ice production. If he can continue scoring points, he has value across all leagues, but he is a great find in dynasty leagues if you can still grab him.
  • Panthers' Barkov Nets Game Winner Against Jets

News: Aleksander Barkov scored his 11th goal of the season-the game-winner-in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Jets.
Analysis: The former second overall pick matched his point total from last season with this goal. Aleksander Barkov has 11 goals and 13 assists on the season while playing 17:12 a night. He has shown plenty of promise and playing alongside Jaromir Jagr and Jonathan Huberdeau will only help his scoring numbers go up. He is still a risky fantasy play as the Panthers don't score that much, but he is more than worth a roster spot in dynasty leagues and can help in deeper formats as well.
  • Panthers' Barkov Tallies Assist In Win

News: Aleksander Barkov added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win against the Islanders.
Analysis: The talented 19-year-old has 23 points on the season and is logging heavy ice time in the process. The light-scoring Panthers have given the second overall pick in 2013 every opportunity to succeed, having him pivot on the second line with a good pair of line-mates in Jaromir Jagr and Jonathan Huberdeau. Aleksander Barkov won't light up the stat sheet on a consistent basis, but has all of the skills necessary to go on a hot streak. As he gels with Jagr, look for his point production to tick upward.
  • Panthers' Barkov Nets Goal In Win

News: Aleksander Barkov potted his 10th goal of the season in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Lightning.
Analysis: The goal gives Aleksander Barkov his 22nd point of the season, just two points off of last year's total. The 19-year-old's value is limited to deeper or dynasty formats, but he should continue to develop into a reliable option in the future.
  • Panthers' Barkov Nets Ninth Of Season

News: Aleksander Barkov netted the Panthers' only goal in a 4-1 loss to the Senators on Saturday night. It was his ninth of the season which established a new career mark.
Analysis: He's still finding his way in the NHL, but his future remains bright. Remember -- he's still only 19 years old. He has four points in his last nine games, so his current year value is limited to the deepest of leagues.
  • Barkov Records Assist in Panthers' Loss

News: Aleksander Barkov picked up an assist on Nick Bjugstad's game-tying goal in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Blues.
Analysis: Ever since his three-point outburst against the Red Wings, Aleksander Barkov has been relatively quiet. This was just his second assist in the 10 games since grabbing two against the Red Wings. The former second overall pick isn't a consistent enough scoring option to merit a roster spot except in the deepest of leagues.
