Coyotes' Klas Dahlbeck: Scores first goal with Coyotes on Thursday

Dahlbeck displayed his shooting ability in his first goal as a Coyote in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers. Dahlbeck received a pass from Max Domi on the left wing and fired a shot past Henrik Lundqvist for his first score with Arizona. It was the only goal the Coyotes would score all night, as Lundqvist stood tall. He also had a shot, five hits and two blocks.

    • Dahlbeck Signs One-Year Deal With Coyotes

News: Klas Dahlbeck signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Coyotes on Monday, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: Klas Dahlbeck, who tallied four points (one goal, three assists) in 23 games at the NHL level last season, will likely split time between the AHL and NHL in 2015-16. He will, however, get a chance to lock up a roster spot with the Coyotes in training camp, as Arizona is relatively thin at defense.
    • Coyotes Qualify Dahlbeck

News: Klas Dahlbeck has received a qualifying offer from the Coyotes, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: The soon-to-be 24-year-old blueliner picked up three assists while going minus-7 in 19 games with Arizona last year after being acquired from the Blackhawks. He'll likely bounce between the AHL and NHL this season, but does have some upside -- Klas Dahlbeck picked up 10 goals and 35 points in 75 games for AHL Rockford back in 2013-14.
    • Coyotes Send Dahlbeck To AHL

News: Klas Dahlbeck was reassigned to AHL Portland on Monday, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: With the Coyotes' season mercifully coming to an end, Klas Dahlbeck and a host of other players will head to Portland to aid their chances of securing a playoff spot. Dahlbeck appeared in 19 games for the Coyotes after being acquired as part of the Antoine Vermette deal with the Blackhawks prior the trade deadline, putting up no goals and three assists while averaging 19:11 TOI.
    • Coyotes' Dahlbeck Getting Audition For Next Year

News: Klas Dahlbeck was minus-1 with one shot on net Tuesday in a 3-2 loss to Calgary. He added one hit and three blocked shots in the contest.
Analysis: Klas Dahlbeck has played in all 17 of Arizona's games since being traded from Chicago as part of the Antione Vermette deal and is seeing more than 19 minutes of ice time per game. He has only picked up three assists and is minus-5 in that span, but he has 48 hits and 38 blocked shots to his credit. He is also being lined up to start his shifts in the defensive zone far more than most of his teammates, suggesting the Coyotes want to see if he can be a replacement for Zbynek Michalek as their top stay-at-home defenseman in the future. It's a job he is well-suited to and could lead to a significant role next season.
    • First Helper Of Season For Coyotes' Dahlbeck

News: Klas Dahlbeck picked up his first assist of the season -- and his first point as a member of the Coyotes -- in Tuesday's 5-4 win over Detroit.
Analysis: In his first 10 games as a Coyote, Klas Dahlbeck went scoreless with a minus-7 rating, so there's not much to get excited about here. However, the 23-year-old blueliner did show some offensive upside for AHL Rockford in the Blackhawks' organization last year, so there's some longer-term intrigue here that may make him ownable in deep keeper formats.
    • Coyotes' Dahlbeck Makes Debut Tuesday

News: Klas Dahlbeck saw a season-high 16:18 of ice time in his Coyotes debut Tuesday; a 4-1 loss to the Ducks. He was minus-1 and took one shot while adding two hits.
Analysis: As expected, Klas Dahlbeck went straight into the Coyotes' lineup, which was down two defensemen following the team's recent trades. He should play regular minutes down the stretch as the Coyotes evaluate how he fits into their plans for next season and beyond. He is viewed as a steady, defensive defenseman, which may limit his fantasy stock, but at just 23-years-old he is still developing and could evolve his game in the coming years.
    • Newly Acquired Dahlbeck To Stick With Coyotes

News: Klas Dahlbeck was added to the Coyotes' active roster following Monday's trade deadline, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: Acquired from the Blackhawks on Saturday in the Antoine Vermette deal, it first sounded like Klas Dahlbeck might report to AHL Portland with his new squad. However, Dahlbeck's destination changed following the Coyotes' trade the very next day that sent Keith Yandle and Chris Summers to the Rangers, creating a vacancy on the blue line. If the Coyotes' line rushes at morning skate are any indication, Dahlbeck is expected to make his team debut Tuesday against the Ducks as a member of the third defensive pairing.
    • Prospect Dahlbeck Traded To Arizona

News: Klas Dahlbeck was traded to Arizona on Saturday in exchange for forward Antoine Vermette, ESPN Chicago reports. A 2015 first-round pick was also sent to the Coyotes in the deal.
Analysis: He's a defensive defender who skates well and thinks the game three steps ahead of the action. Klas Dahlbeck's plus/minus at AHL Rockford has been outstanding this season, and he should bring a settling perspective to the rebuilding Coyotes. Expect him to challenge for a regular spot with the parent club at some point in 2015-16.
    • Blackhawks' Dahlbeck Reassigned

News: Klas Dahlbeck was reassigned to AHL Rockford on Sunday, ESPN Chicago reports.
Analysis: Klas Dahlbeck had only been averaging just over ten minutes of ice time, some of the lowest on the team. The Blackhawks acquired Tim Erixon from the Blue Jackets on Sunday, likely leading to the Swede's demotion back to the AHL.
