Lightning's Nikita Kucherov: Three-point outburst includes game winner

Kucherov scored the game-winning goal and added two power-play assists in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Ducks. The sniper has 10 points, including three goals, in his last 10 games. But Kucherov had gone six games without a goal before Saturday's snipe. We hope this three-point outburst is the start of something more productive for the winger.

Lightning's Nikita Kucherov: Extends points streak to four games

Kucherov notched a goal and an assist in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Sabres. The "Triplets" are beginning to get hot. Kucherov has three goals and three assists on a four-game points streak, as the Bolts' most important line is starting to come to life. It'd be a good idea to ride this hot streak.

Lightning's Nikita Kucherov: Point streak at three games and four points

Kucherov extended his current point streak to three games and four points (two goals, two assists) with Tampa Bay's only goal in a 2-1 loss to Detroit. It came on the power play. Looks like he's turning up the heat -- what a relief. Kucherov took the league by storm last year with 29 goals and 65 points, but remarkably just two of those goals came with the man advantage. This year, he has already equalled that output on the power play. Bottom line? His role has grown and that means his production will be that much more valuable in most formats. Kucherov's current owner might be frustrated by what they think is a slow start. Swoop in and make an offer.

Lightning's Nikita Kucherov: Two assists give him three points in last two

Kucherov picked up two assists in Sunday's win over the Hurricanes. They were his first two helpers of the season and he now has three points in his last two games. Sunday marked the first time that Kucherov had put up points in back-to-back contests -- maybe it's a sign there are better things coming to him (and his owners) soon.

Lightning's Nikita Kucherov: Just three goals in 12 games in October

Kucherov scored just his third goal of the season in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Bruins. He has just two goals in his last 10 games and three in 12 this season. But we're not reading much into it. It took Kucherov nine games last season to get his first goal and he finished with 29. The best is yet to come. And you might be able to leverage his sluggish start into a trade that pries him from a frustrated owner. What they don't know will benefit you.

Lightning's Nikita Kucherov: Snipes game-winning goal Saturday afternoon

Kucherov recorded his first point of the season -- a game-winning goal -- in Saturday afternoon's 4-1 win over Buffalo. He hooked up with fellow Triplet-linemate Tyler Johnson, scoring the go-ahead goal with less than 30 seconds remaining in the second period. After seemingly coming out of nowhere last season to record 64 points and a league-best plus-38 rating, Kucherov won't have the element of surprise this year, so it remains to be seen how he, Johnson and Ondrej Palat handle the extra attention from the league's top defenders. Thankfully, there's another pretty good Lightning player by the name of Steven Stamkos to help keep deflect some of the heat from Kucherov's line.

    • Back at practice after lower-body injury

News: Nikita Kucherov (lower body) is on the ice for practice Monday, reports Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune.
Analysis: Nikita Kucherov should be fine for opening night. He had left Thursday's preseason match against Dallas as a precaution and sat out Saturday's contest to rest.
    • Should be healthy for regular season

News: Coach Jon Cooper indicated following Thursday's preseason game that Nikita Kucherov (lower body) may skip Saturday's preseason contest, but believes he'll be fine for the beginning of the regular season, Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis: Nikita Kucherov's injury occurred early in Thursday's contest, and he ultimately didn't return after attempting to test it out during a timeout. Fortunately, it appears the issue is nothing major, and the team will likely ensure he's healthy even if that means keeping him out of the final preseason contest.
    • Exits with lower-body injury

News: Nikita Kucherov left Thursday's preseason game against the Stars with a lower-body injury and will not return, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Nikita Kucherov may have suffered an injury when colliding with Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen, or it may have come later following a hit. He went to the locker room, but tried to test out the issue briefly during a timeout before leaving permanently. Jonathan Drouin and Alex Killorn filled in on his line Thursday, but it would be a big blow to begin the season for the Lightning if the injury turns out to be something serious.
    • Bolts' Kucherov: Triplet Line Will Be Even Better

News: Nikita Kucherov thinks he and the Triplet Line can be better than they were last year, reports the Tampa Tribune. "Any good player can be good one year; good players play every year at a high level even better than the year before," said the talented sniper. "The main goal is to be better than last year."
Analysis: Bolts' coach Jon Cooper split the trio of Nikita Kucherov, Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat up at the start of training camp, but only to test other players who were in camp. Kucherov has been going off the board early in preseason drafts, so don't let him fall too far on draft day.
