• Nets first career goal

News: Oscar Lindberg scored his first NHL goal in Wednesday's 3-2 Opening Night win over the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Oscar Lindberg logged three shots on goal, one takeaway and a plus-2 rating in the victory. The young forward seemed to have good chemistry with new linemates J.T. Miller and Viktor Stalberg, combining for a goal and three assists. Although we wouldn't exactly suggest Lindberg to standard format owners just yet, it's not out of the question the Swede could continue to produce.
  • Survives final roster cuts

News: Oscar Lindberg has survived the Rangers' final roster cuts and practiced on the team's third line Friday, reports Andrew Gross of The Record.
Analysis: Pending some last-minute moves, the 23-year-old Swede will likely begin the season in a bottom-six role with the Rangers. Naturally a center, Oscar Lindberg skated on the wing opposite Viktor Stalberg, with J.T. Miller serving as the pivot. In two seasons with Hartford of the AHL, Lindberg showed durability and production, collecting 100 points in 150 regular season games. There's no guarantee those numbers will translate at the NHL level, much less while he's logging limited minutes on the third line, but it's worth monitoring his progress.
  • Lindberg Inks Two-Year Deal With Rangers

News: Oscar Lindberg signed a two-year (one-way), $1.3 million deal with the Rangers on Tuesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Oscar Lindberg tallied 28 goals and 28 assists for a total of 56 points in 75 games with AHL Hartford in 2014-15. The one-way nature of his new deal suggests that the Rangers are ready to make Lindberg a permanent member of their offensive corps. His offensive upside makes him a player fantasy owners will want to keep tabs on heading into the upcoming season.
  • Rangers Send Lindberg To AHL

News: Oscar Lindberg was sent down to AHL Hartford on Wednesday, the NY Post reports.
Analysis: Oscar Lindberg spent just one game with the NHL club, as he was called up to fill in for Rick Nash as he dealth with neck spasms. The 23-year-old has had an impressive season with Hartford, tallying 36 points and a plus-5 rating in 54 games.
  • Rangers' Lindberg Makes NHL Debut

News: Oscar Lindberg skated 8:18 and took two shots on goal in his NHL debut Tuesday against Calgary.
Analysis: The 23-year-old centerman showed some nice skill and grit, with his persistent play yielding a couple scoring chances despite the limited ice time. He's a short-timer in this stint with the Rangers, but has solid longer-term potential despite being an older prospect.
  • Rangers Recall Lindberg

News: Oscar Lindberg was recalled from AHL Hartford on Tuesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: The Rangers have at least one center feeling under the weather entering Tuesday's game against the Flames, so Oscar Lindberg will be on hand as an insurance option. The 23-year-old has an impressive 16 goals and 20 assists over 54 games for Hartford, but would more than likely be used in a bottom-six role if he ends up suiting up with the Rangers on Tuesday.
  • Rangers Assign Lindberg To AHL Hartford

News: The Rangers assigned Oscar Lindberg to AHL Hartford on Monday.
Analysis: Oscar Lindberg has yet to appear in an NHL game, and he will have to continue waiting, as his 2014-15 season will begin in Hartford. Lindberg could be an option at some point though for a Rangers team that lacks depth at the center position.
  • Rangers' Lindberg Opens Scoring Against Hawks

News: Oscar Lindberg collected a goal and three shots on net in Friday's preseason win over Chicago.
Analysis: The 22-year-old Swedish center scored just 50 seconds into the first period of his first preseason appearance. Whether Derek Stepan (leg) went down or not, Oscar Lindberg was due a good look this fall. However, with Dominic Moore moving up the depth chart, Lindberg (two hits in 12-plus minutes) will need to show a balanced effort in what would be minimal ice time in order to punch his ticket to Manhattan.
