Rangers' Oscar Lindberg: More ice time in sight?

Lindberg has a goal and two assists in his last five contests. Oddly enough, Lindberg saw his ice time decrease (11:39) in the team's first game without top-2 center Derek Stepan (ribs) in the lineup. With Stepan's absence expected to be lengthy, it's possible to see the third line forward Lindberg (15 points in 24 games) could make his way up head coach Alain Vigneault's depth chart.

Rangers' Oscar Lindberg: Gets back on the sheets in win over Florida

Lindberg logged an assist in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over Florida. It's a good sign for the third line forward who had been held off the scorer's sheet in four straight games. Despite the lull, the rookie is still outperforming any expectations with a plus-8 rating and 13 points through 20 games.

Rangers' Oscar Lindberg: Continues production in win over 'Yotes

Lindberg collected an assist in Saturday's victory over Arizona. The 24-year-old also rewarded owners in a few other categories as he notched two shots on goal and four penalty minutes. While no one should be surprised that the second round pick (2010) is producing, his consistency has certainly been unexpected. Lindberg, currently enjoying his second three-game point streak of the season, now has seven goals and four assists in 14 games played.

Rangers' Oscar Lindberg: collects goal, assist in win over Caps

Lindberg had a goal and an assist in Tuesday's win over Washington. The rookie forward had a balanced night, plugging some other categories such as PIM (2), shots on goal (3) and a game-high six hits to go with a plus-2 rating. Since registering just one point in five games last month, Lindberg (nine points in 12 games) has recovered, logging four points (two goals, two assists) in his last four tilts. While we continue to temper our expectations, as far as we can tell, this youngster is only hampered by bottom-six minutes.

Rangers' Oscar Lindberg: Stringing them together again

Lindberg nets his fifth of the season in a 4-1 win over Calgary. After starting the season on a heater, the third line center cooled off a bit. But with points the last two contests, Lindberg has posted a very respectable seven points in the first 10 games of his rookie campaign. While we don't recommend dropping anyone with top-six status for the 23-year-old, his progress is certainly worth keeping an eye on in most fantasy formats, regardless of his expected total ice time.

Rangers' Oscar Lindberg: Sets franchise record for rookie scoring

Lindberg scored twice Saturday against the Blue Jackets and now has four goals in the Rangers' first three games. He's the first rookie in franchise history to score at least one goal in a season's first three games. Not bad for a guy expected to be a bottom-six forward. But he's caught lightning in a bottle and we'll take it. Just don't expect it to last.

Rangers C Oscar Lindberg off to a productive start with a pair goals

Rangers center Oscar Lindberg logged his second goal of the season in Friday's 4-2 win over Columbus. While we imagined a time that Lindberg would begin chipping in on another balanced Rangers roster, we didn't think it would come this fast. Having netted a pair of goals in his first two games of the season, he's certainly earned a waiver in deeper formats. From there, temper your expectations, but it's certainly plausible head coach Alain Vigneault's increases his ice time in an effort to jump start his top two lines, which could end up making Lindberg more relevant to standard formats.

    • Nets first career goal

News: Oscar Lindberg scored his first NHL goal in Wednesday's 3-2 Opening Night win over the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Oscar Lindberg logged three shots on goal, one takeaway and a plus-2 rating in the victory. The young forward seemed to have good chemistry with new linemates J.T. Miller and Viktor Stalberg, combining for a goal and three assists. Although we wouldn't exactly suggest Lindberg to standard format owners just yet, it's not out of the question the Swede could continue to produce.
    • Survives final roster cuts

News: Oscar Lindberg has survived the Rangers' final roster cuts and practiced on the team's third line Friday, reports Andrew Gross of The Record.
Analysis: Pending some last-minute moves, the 23-year-old Swede will likely begin the season in a bottom-six role with the Rangers. Naturally a center, Oscar Lindberg skated on the wing opposite Viktor Stalberg, with J.T. Miller serving as the pivot. In two seasons with Hartford of the AHL, Lindberg showed durability and production, collecting 100 points in 150 regular season games. There's no guarantee those numbers will translate at the NHL level, much less while he's logging limited minutes on the third line, but it's worth monitoring his progress.
    • Lindberg Inks Two-Year Deal With Rangers

News: Oscar Lindberg signed a two-year (one-way), $1.3 million deal with the Rangers on Tuesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Oscar Lindberg tallied 28 goals and 28 assists for a total of 56 points in 75 games with AHL Hartford in 2014-15. The one-way nature of his new deal suggests that the Rangers are ready to make Lindberg a permanent member of their offensive corps. His offensive upside makes him a player fantasy owners will want to keep tabs on heading into the upcoming season.
