      Capitals' Nate Schmidt: Scratched from Friday lineup

      Schmidt was held out of Friday's 7-4 win over Edmonton. The Capitals had played the night before, so it's possible they just wanted a fresh body on the blue line for the back-to-back tilt. Still, Schmidt has had trouble staying in the Capitals lineup thus far in 2015-2016, and his fantasy upside will remain extremely limited until he can establish himself as a mainstay in the lineup.

      Analysis: With Mike Green expected to depart as an unrestricted free agent this summer, Nate Schmidt is expected to fill one of the six regular spots on defense for the Capitals. Schmidt's deal is of the one-way variety, meaning that he'll have to clear waivers first if the Capitals decide to send him back to AHL Hershey at any point. The 23-year-old has appeared in 68 games with the Capitals over the past two seasons, accruing three goals and seven assists.
