• Wings' Glendening Will Play Saturday

News: Luke Glendening will play in Saturday's Game 5 against the Lightning.
Analysis: It appears as though the thumb injury Luke Glendening suffered in the third period of Thursday's Game 4 is not serious enough to keep him out of Game 5. Glendening has already notched two goals in the series, and will look to keep that offensive production rolling Saturday.
  • Wings' Glendening Suffers Minor Thumb Injury

News: Luke Glendening suffered a thumb injury in the third period of Thursday's Game 4 matchup with the Lightning, but said he'll be able to play in Game 5 on Saturday, Ansar Khan of MLive Media Group reports.
Analysis: Luke Glendening left in the third period and did not return, finishing the game with two shots on goal and two penalty minutes in 15:01 of ice time. While it sounds as though he'll play Saturday, Glendening's progress over the next couple days should be telling.
  • Wings' Glendening Scores Shorthanded Winner

News: Luke Glendening scored a shorthanded goal in Thursday's Game 1 against the Lightning, and it held up as the game-winner.
Analysis: At the time, the unassisted goal gave Detroit a 3-1 lead, but Nikita Nesterov scored for Tampa less than three minutes later to make the final score 3-2 and give Luke Glendening the winner. He managed 12 goals this year, but just 18 total points, so don't expect Glendening to suddenly turn into a playoff scoring machine even if his high ice time (18:00 on Thursday) persists.
  • Wings' Glendening Scores Again

News: Luke Glendening netted his 12th goal of the season in a 3-2 loss to Boston on Thursday.
Analysis: Luke Glendening is on a bit of a hot streak, with three goals and an assist in his last four games. That likely has to do with some of the injury problems for Detroit moving Glendening up a line or two, but the Red Wings will not turn away any production at this point. He now has 17 points in 77 games on the season.
  • Wings' Glendening: Three Points In Last Four

News: Luke Glendening recorded an assist in Sunday's loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: Though he's since been moved out of a top-six role, Luke Glendening has rattled off two goals and an assist over his last four games. Even so, given his low minutes total and lack of power-play time, Glendening shouldn't be trusted to maintain his current scoring run.
  • Wings' Glendening Scores In Loss

News: Luke Glendening registered a goal and five shots in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: It was a productive outing for Luke Glendening, as his plus-1 rating brought him back to an even zero on the season in that category. The 25-year-old has shown flashes, but the goal gives him just 13 points in 64 games, so his fantasy value is restricted to leagues that value minor categories.
  • Wings' Glendening Strikes Twice

News: Luke Glendening scored a pair of goals and went plus-4 Tuesday in a 5-4 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: A terrific and surprising outing for Luke Glendening, who'd managed just a lone assist over the prior seven games. The second-year-man adds some fantasy utility in leagues that count hits and blocks, but Tuesday's effort pushes him to all of nine points in 48 games this year.
  • Wings' Glendening Picks Up Assist

News: Luke Glendening assisted on one of six Detroit goals in Tuesday's victory over Buffalo.
Analysis: Luke Glendening has suited up for all 35 of the Red Wings' games in 2014-15, but the team's relatively sound health at the center spot compared to a season earlier has confined the 25-year-old to a bottom-six role. He's shown some proficiency as a hitter in that capacity, but his offensive opportunities have been scarce. He's mustered just over one shot attempt per game and has only five points to show for it.
  • Wings' Glendening Earns Two Points

News: Luke Glendening scored a goal and added an assist while skating to a plus-2 rating in Friday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.
Analysis: An unlikely scorer, Luke Glendening tripled his point total from one to three in 16 games this season. He also fired three shots on net and has 14 PIM and a plus-5 rating this year, so if he can find a way onto the scoresheet more often, the 25-year-old sophomore could force his way into fantasy relevance.
  • Wings' Glendening Notches Goal In Loss

News: Luke Glendening scored his second career goal in Saturday's loss to the Ducks.
Analysis: As the Red Wings' fourth-line center, Luke Glendening won't be counted on for much offense this season, but he nearly willed the team to victory Saturday night. In addition to the score he did provide, Glendening narrowly missed out on another goal later in the second period after his open breakaway attempt was denied by goalie Frederik Andersen.
