• Devils' Tootoo Inks New Deal

News: Jordin Tootoo signed a one-year contract with the Devils on Saturday, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: The 32-year-old winger finished the 2014-15 season with a total of 15 points and 72 PIM. While fantasy owners shouldn't expect him to produce much offensively, he is worth consideration in deeper leagues due to his hitting ability as well as the time he spends in the sin bin.
  • Devils' Tootoo Scores Eighth Goal In Win

News: Jordin Tootoo scored his eighth goal of the season, had an assist and collected seven PIM in Saturday's win over Arizona.
Analysis: A solid fantasy night for the 32-year-old, who has four goals and eight points in his last 12 games. Considering he's skating on the second line with Michael Cammalleri and has racked up a whopping 70 PIM in 55 games, he could be worth a look in some deep leagues.
  • Devils' Tootoo Scores Seventh Goal

News: Jordin Tootoo potted his seventh goal of the season in Friday's loss to Columbus.
Analysis: Jordin Tootoo now has 11 points and 61 PIM in 51 games this season. While he's only got 47 shots on goal, Tootoo is a decent depth scorer who should hit the 10-goal mark for the second time in his career. While he's finding twine at a decent rate of late, the 32-year-old is more known for his physical play and doesn't provide good all-around fantasy value.
  • Devils' Tootoo Finds Twine In Loss

News: Jordin Tootoo extended his point streak to five games Friday, scoring his sixth goal of the season in an overtime loss to Boston.
Analysis: Skating on the second line with Travis Zajac and Michael Cammalleri, Jordin Tootoo is finding a way to contribute offensively for the Devils. While this streak likely won't last for much longer, he could be worth looking at if he remains in the Devils' top-six. Keep in mind, though, Tootoo has never surpassed 30 points in his career and is more known for his physical contributions.
  • Devils' Tootoo Brings Point Streak To Three Games

News: Jordin Tootoo notched an assist in Monday's win over the Coyotes, extending his point streak to three games.
Analysis: The Devils have shown a willingness of late to give Jordin Tootoo more opportunities outside of his usual checking role. He's been skating on the third line in recent contests and is also seeing duty on the Devils' second power-play unit, which has allowed him to increase his offensive output. Even so, with only eight points in 46 games this season, Tootoo will need to provide more scoring before warranting more fantasy appeal.
  • Devils' Tootoo Grabs Assist In Friday's Win

News: Jordin Tootoo picked up an assist in Friday's win over the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Assists are always nice to see from the fourth-liner, but it's his penchant for fighting (and racking up PIM) that will drive his value most nights. By virtue of averaging only 7:07 of ice time this season, scoring opportunities don't often come about for Jordin Tootoo, who has only five points in 38 games.
  • Devils' Tootoo Bags Game-Winner

News: Jordin Tootoo scored the game-winning goal in Tuesday's 4-1 triumph over the Sabres.
Analysis: It's just the third point of the season for the fourth-line tough guy. Jordin Tootoo has a fairly regular spot in the Devils' lineup, but he's only useful for those in need of help in the hits or PIM categories.
  • Devils Activate Tootoo

News: Jordin Tootoo (foot) was activated from injured reserve Friday, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Jordin Tootoo was considered close to returning to action Thursday against the Blues, but the team decided to give him an additional day to cover from the bruised foot. Now that he's seemingly healthy and ready to go, expect Tootoo to rejoin the fourth line for Friday's tilt with the Red Wings.
  • Devils' Tootoo Won't Return Thursday

News: Jordin Tootoo (foot) will not be activated from injured reserve in advance of Thursday's game against the Blues, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Jordin Tootoo was deemed healthy enough to join the Devils on their two-game road swing and was on the ice for morning skate Thursday, but coach Pete DeBoer determined that the winger wasn't quite ready to play yet. It seems reasonable to think that Tootoo could be an option for the second game of the back-to-back Friday, when DeBoer might be more willing to rest one of his fourth-liners to create an opening in the lineup.
  • Devils' Tootoo To Join Devils On Road Trip

News: Jordin Tootoo (foot) will join the Devils for their back-to-back road games in St. Louis on Thursday and Detroit on Friday, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Jordin Tootoo was cleared to make the trip after taking part in Wednesday's optional practice. The fourth-liner, who is working his way back from a bruised foot, remains on injured reserve, so he won't be cleared to play until the Devils formally activate him.
