Analysis: The 30-year-old Pierre-Marc Bouchard saw action in 28 games with the Islanders last season, logging nine points and 12 penalty minutes. In heading back overseas to resume his career, it won't be surprising if Bouchard never logs another NHL minute.

Analysis: Meanwhile, Peter Regin, who was also acquired from the Isles on Thursday, will head to Chicago to join the big club. Pierre-Marc Bouchard was a disaster for the Isles, and he'll apparently have to work his way up with the Blackhawks.

  • Islanders' Bouchard Waived Monday

News: Pierre-Marc Bouchard was placed on waivers Monday, TSN's James Mirtle reports.
Analysis: Pierre-Marc Bouchard has been a disappointment after signing a one-year, $2 million contract in the offseason. He'll likely pass through waivers unclaimed, though it wouldn't be shocking if some team were to roll the dice. If he goes unclaimed, Bouchard will likely join AHL Bridgeport.
  • Bouchard No Longer On Top Line For Isles

News: Pierre-Marc Bouchard is no longer playing on the top line, according to Newsday.
Analysis: Pierre-Marc Bouchard just didn't click with John Tavares and Matt Moulson so he was moved down to the third line. Right now the Isles seem to be holding an open tryout to see who will take that spot. It could be Kyle Okposo when he returns to the lineup, maybe even Josh Bailey. Whoever it is could see an increase in their fantasy value should they be able to remain on the top line.
  • Isles Sign Bouchard

News: Pierre-Marc Bouchard signed with the Islanders on Friday, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.
Analysis: The deal is for one-year and $2 million. Pierre-Marc Bouchard had eight goals and 20 points in 43 games last season but has had injury problems in prior years. He is unlikely to be a top six forward on Long Island.

Although he carries a ton of injury risk, Bouchard managed to play in 43 games during the lockout-shortened season and tallied a respectable 20 points in those contests. He should boost the attack of whichever team signs him, health permitting.
