The 30-year-old has over 500 career NHL games under his belt, so he could be a good organizational depth option for the Predators in the event that injuries strike their blue line.

Analysis: Once the Wings signed Danny DeKeyser, Ian White was an odd-man out of the lineup down the stretch and following a two-year stint that paid him $5.75 million in Detroit, While will look to secure a top-six role elsewhere with the chance to see occasional power-play work as well depending on the other pieces on his new club.

Analysis: Ian White has delivered a point in back-to-back games and seems to be gaining the trust of head coach Mike Babcock as he played 4:42 on the power play in Monday night's win over Phoenix. White is skating with Jakub Kindl as part of the third pairing in Detroit, but he may be trending back toward having value in very deep formats.

  • Wings' White A Healthy Scratch For Fifth Straight

News: Ian White will be a healthy scratch for the fifth straight game Thursday, MLive.com reports.
Analysis: He'll be joined by Kent Huskins in the press box, while the Wings may be looking to deal Ian White at the upcoming trade deadline as things will only be more crowded if Carlo Colaiacovo returns from a shoulder injury.
  • Wings Scratch White Wednesday

News: Ian White will be a healthy scratch against the Kings on Wednesday, Mlive.com reports.
Analysis: Ian White has just one goal and one assist in 14 games to date after scoring 32 points (including 10 on the power play) in 77 games last season. He figures to be back in the lineup sooner rather than later, but now that he is no longer seeing time paired with Niklas Kronwall, his production has dipped enough to send him to the press box.
