Kings' Jeff Carter: First multi-point game since Nov. 20

Carter scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Senators. It was his first multi-point game since Nov. 20. For all the hype around him, Carter has really only had one big season (84 points in 82 games) and it was back in 2008-09. He's a pretty reliable 55-60 point guy, with heavy emphasis on goals -- Carter has delivered three straight seasons of 26 goals or more and that included the lockout year. Barring injury, he should be a 25-60 man this season and that's solid value for a fantasy forward.

Kings' Jeff Carter: Will return Thursday

Carter (upper body) will return to the lineup Thursday against the Maple Leafs. Carter has been sidelined since Dec. 26 with the upper-body issue, but finally rejoined line rushes during Wednesday's practice and will now take his spot back in the lineup. If the practice lines hold as expected, the veteran should center the Kings' second line alongside Tanner Pearson and Marian Gaborik.

Kings' Jeff Carter: Participates in line rushes Wednesday

Carter (upper body) took part in the Kings line rushes Wednesday, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. Carter's presence at practice Wednesday certainly bodes well for his chances to rejoin the lineup Thursday against the Maple Leafs. However, expect another update at some point following morning skate Thursday confirming his status one way or the other.

Kings' Jeff Carter: Travels to Colorado

Carter traveled with the team to Colorado ahead of Monday's contest with the Avalanche, LA Kings Insider Jon Rosen reports. This is a positive sign for Carter, who has missed the Kings' last four games, as the Kings return to LA after Monday's game. If there wasn't a chance that Carter would play, it's unlikely that he would have made the trip to Colorado. Further updates should come out ahead of Monday's puck drop, but Carter looks to be on track for a return to the lineup.
