• Capitals Sign Potulny

News: The Capitals have signed Potulny for the 2011-12 season, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Potulny was a frequent traveler last season, having played for the Blackhawks and more recently, the Senators, in addition to each of those team's minor league affiliates. Potulny has 126 games worth of NHL experience, but has also consistently seen time in the minors since the Flyers selected him in the third round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. The journeyman will provide organizational depth at the center spot for the Capitals.
  • Potulny Demoted By Sens

News: The Senators have re-assigned Potulny to AHL Binghamton, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Potulny, who was acquired by the Senators on Feb. 28 from the Blackhawks, is scoreless in 10 NHL games this season.
  • Sens Recall Potulny From AHL

News: Ottawa recalled Potulny from the AHL on Tuesday reports the club's web site.
Analysis: Potulny will play with the big club for the remainder of the season and get a chance to show what he's capable of in the hopes of landing a contract extension with Ottawa. He'll line up for Tuesday's game against Boston with Jesse Winchester at center and Francis Lessard on the other wing. This is currently Ottawa's fourth line, so don't expect a lot of fantasy numbers to be generated.
  • Potulny Traded To Sens

News: The Blackhawks have traded Potulny to Ottawa for Chris Campoli. The deal also includes a conditional second-rounder from each side, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.
Analysis: Potuly moves on to his third NHL organization. He's been a productive scorer in the AHL before and flashed a little offense at times with Edmonton last year, but the former third-round pick hasn't been able to develop into a consistent presence. He has 41 points in 58 games in the AHL this season.
  • Blackhawks' Potulny Back To AHL

News: Potulny was sent to the AHL after a one-game stint with the Blackhawks, Chicago Tribune writer Chris Kuc reports.
Analysis: Potulny took one (missed) shot in about 9.5 minutes of play against Colorado, and it doesn't seem likely that his impact in near future NHL games will be drastically different.
  • Blackhawks' Potulny Sent Down

News: Potulny has been assigned to Rockford, according to James Mirtle of The Globe and Mail.
Analysis: Potulny, who got called up when Dave Bolland got hurt, did not record a point in two games with the Blackhawks. Potulny has minimal fantasy value in most formats.

  • Blackhawks Place Potulny on Waivers
