Kings' Matt Greene: Out for season

Greene (shoulder) has been ruled out of the remainder of the season, Helene Elliott of the LA Times reports. Greene underwent shoulder surgery on Dec. 3, and apparently won't fully recover from the procedure until after the conclusion of the 2015-16 campaign. Perhaps in a corresponding move, the Kings added defender Luke Schenn to their roster via trade on Thursday to bolster the team's depth at defense. Greene will likely be ready for the start of next season's training camp.

Kings' Matt Greene: Placed on LTIR

Greene (upper body) has been placed on long-term injured reserve, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. Greene underwent shoulder surgery Dec. 3, and it's been reported that he will be out indefinitely. The LTIR tag makes Greene ineligible to play for at least 24 calendar days and 10 regular-season games. As a corresponding move and cap-saving measure, the Kings have reassigned Justin Schultz and Nick Ebert to AHL Ontario.

Kings' Matt Greene: Visits doctor and doesn't skate Monday

Greene (upper body) saw a doctor Monday as he works his way back from an upper body injury, LA Kings Insider reports. It's hard to say if Greene has suffered some sort of setback or simply stalled in his rehab as he didn't travel with the team on their recently concluded road trip and didn't skate with the team Monday.

Kings' Matt Greene: Still without timetable

Greene (upper body) remains without a definite timetable for return, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. While Greene doesn't have an official timetable, the fact that he hasn't been placed on long-term injured reserve bodes well. However, it doesn't sound as though he will be joining the lineup in thnear future, so it wouldn't be surprising if he misses the entirety of this week at a minimum, but his status remains pretty cloudy at this point.

Greene played in the first three games of the season, but has been out since October 16. Greene has been skating since the beginning of November, but unless he joins the Kings during their road trip, he wouldn't play until November 28, at the earliest.

Kings' Matt Greene: Placed on IR on Friday

Greene (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Friday, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. The move doesn't come as a huge surprise, as Greene has been sidelined with an upper-body injury since the preseason. Since he hasn't been able to suit up for a single tilt this season, Greene will likely be eligible to return to action as soon as he is healthy, whenever that may be.
