    Analysis: Olvecky split the 2008-09 season between the Minnesota Wild and the Houston Aeros (AHL), posting seven points (two goals) in 31 NHL games and 23 points (six goals) in 41 AHL contests. Olvecky is more organizational depth at this point in his career and can be ignored in Fantasy.

He totaled a career-high 33 points (17 goals) in 61 games with the Houston Aeros (AHL) in 2007-08 and has 23 points this season in 31 games. The third-round pick from 2004 has no Fantasy value at this time despite his breakthrough goal.

  • Olvecky agrees to one-year contract

    News: The Wild signed D Clayton Stoner and LW Peter Olvecky to one-year contracts Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
    Analysis: Olvecky totaled a career-high 33 points (17 goals) in 61 games with the Houston Aeros (AHL) in 2007-08. He has played the last three seasons with the Aeros, posting 92 points (43 goals) in 197 games. He is nothing more than organizational depth and can be ignored in Fantasy.
