White Sox lefty Chris Sale will return to the rotation in "five to six days," manager Robin Ventura tells Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune. Sale was recently shut down because of a dead arm, but Gonzales notes that he's slated to play catch on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old co-ace of the Chicago staff has a 2.61 ERA in 124.0 innings in this, his first season as a starter.

Needless to say, if the Sox are going to fend off the surging and deadline-bolstered Tigers in the AL Central, then they'll need a healthy and effective Sale down the stretch.
