The Rays have signed Roberto Hernandez, the right-hander who formerly went by the name "Fausto Carmona," to a one-year, $3.25-million contract. Marc Topkin of the St. Petersburg Times tweets that the deal also includes $1.85 million in possible incentives.

The 32-year-old Hernandez pitched just 14 1/3 innings last season (a consequence of his being placed on the restricted list by the Indians and his missing more than a month with a right ankle sprain), but for his career he has a 4.64 ERA across parts of seven major-league seasons.
