Marlins front office boycotting media?

Jeffrey Loria apparently doesn't like the media. (US Presswire)

Buried at the bottom of a "Sunday Buzz" column by Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald is this gem on the Miami Marlins' brass:

Besides forbidding president David Samson from doing his radio show, Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria also told Samson that he can no longer do interviews. That's short-sighted, because Samson made himself more accountable and accessible than many team presidents, even amid unpopular decisions made solely by Loria. Loria, by the way, has refused to speak to the media since mid-November.

I guess we were too mean to the Marlins in the wake of their latest fire sale. Here on CBSSports.com alone, I called Loria the worst owner in baseball and Scott Miller said he must be stopped.

Then again, Marlins fans aren't especially kind to Loria. either. He's only slightly more popular than Cuban dictator Fidel Castro in south Florida. Maybe Loria should boycott the fans just as he has already boycotted the chance at a winning season in 2013.
