Dustin Brown beats Brian Elliott with perfect wrist shot (video)
Brian Elliott has not had a great series in net for the St. Louis Blues, but sometimes there isn't much a goalie can do against an absolutely perfect shot.
That's what we saw late in the first period of Sunday's Game 4 in Los Angeles when Dustin Brown fired this beauty off the rush, using defenseman Alex Pietrangelo as a screen, and picking his spot in the corner just above Elliott's glove.
What a shot.
I have a hard time putting much blame on Elliott for that goal because, really, what else can he do there? That's just an example of an outstanding player making a great play and beating him with a picture perfect shot.
Brown has been one of the best players in the playoffs, and this goal is already his fifth of the playoffs (and his 10th point). With the way the Kings are rolling through the postseason he has to be on the short list of early Conn Smythe favorites.
