Video: John Tortorella briefly discusses Rangers Game 6 loss

By Adam Gretz | Hockey writer
The New York Rangers lost on Wednesday night and that means head coach John Tortorella was in a bad mood. And when he's in a bad mood, he's not really interested in answering questions.

His post-game press conference lasted about 80 seconds, and included a couple of highlights.
  • When asked about a four-minute power play that resulted in zero goals and few chances, Tortorella responded by simply saying, "It sucked."
  • When asked about the play of Derek Stepan he said he wasn't going to discuss individual players and then added, "stop coaching, Pat," when he was pressed on the matter.
  • His reaction (and facepalm) at the 46-second mark of the video posted above when discussing his use of the timeout.

Even when they're short, his meetings with the media are never dull. He's already been fined a total of $50,000 this season for comments made about the officiating in the Winter Classic, as well as an epic rant following a game in Pittsburgh late in the season.

Still, this wasn't even his shortest presser of the season.

Back in October following a game in Edmonton he simply emerged from his office and said "we sucked from head to toe" and refused to answer any questions. Prior to Game 6 of the Rangers opening round series against Ottawa he went through an entire press conference using just six words, which might be his most impressive one of the year.
