Dipoto: Angels have 'tremendous interest' in bringing back Torii Hunter
The Angels are interested in re-signing Torii Hunter, according to the Los Angeles Times' Mike DiGiovanna.
The team was expected to part ways with Hunter during the offseason, but his strong September performance has changed their mind. Hunter also expressed that he would be willing to take a pay cut to return to the club. The 36-year-old outfielder made $18 million this season.
General Manager Jerry Dipoto said they have “tremendous interest” in re-signing Hunter but also said it would depend on whether they have pitching depth. Zack Greinke is slated to be a free agent, and it's unclear if the team will keep Dan Haren and Ervin Santana. Both players have club options for next season. Dipoto also expressed interest in re-signing Greinke.
