Marlins' Ricky Nolasco: 'I'll be traded sometime before the deadline'
Marlins pitcher Ricky Nolasco believes he'll be dealt by the trade deadline, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
Nolasco is set to earn $11.5 million in 2013 and will be a free agent at season's end. Due to his price tag, it has been speculated the Marlins could move him.
"I feel pretty sure I'll be traded sometime before the deadline," he said. "It all depends on how I pitch.”
Nolasco's agent, Matt Sosnick, said Nolasco wanted to be traded in December, but the pitcher is fine opening the year with the Marlins. He does not expect to finish the season with the team.
Nolasco, 30, tossed 191 innings with the Marlins last season, with a 4.48 ERA and a 3.87 FIP.
