Report: Rangers, Kyle Lohse remain in contact
Related: Brewers should sign Lohse
The Rangers and free-agent starting pitcher Kyle Lohse have remained in conact, according to Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Wilson also reported Rangers officials are divided about signing the 34-year-old right-hander.
Signing Lohse would cost the Rangers the No. 24 overall pick in the 2013 draft, as Lohse was offered and rejected a qualifying offer by the Cardinals before the start of free agency.
The forfeiture of a draft pick by the team that signs Lohse -- as long as that team isn't the Cardinals, his 2012 club -- is likely the biggest reason he remains a free agent with the regular season less than a month away.
Lohse went 16-3 with a 2.86 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 143 strikeouts in 211 innings with the Cardinals in 2012.
