Even though the Mercury lost 102-80 to the Chicago Sky on Monday, Phoenix executives have to be thrilled with what they saw out of their No. 1 overall pick, Brittney Griner, in her WNBA debut.

The 6-foot-8 center threw down two fourth-quarter dunks, becoming the first woman in WNBA history to dunk twice in a game.

For the majority of the contest, No. 2 pick Elena Delle Donne overshadowed Griner in their respective debuts. Delle Donne, a former University of Delaware All-American, poured in 22 points in the first three quarters.

But Griner had two fourth-quarter jams to make WNBA history. She finished with 17 points and eight rebounds.
