Report: Triple Crown winners could settle debate at Travers Stakes

The winners of the Triple Crown races might meet again at the Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course, where they would settle the debate over which is the best male 3-year-old, the Daily Racing Form reports.

Trainers for Kentucky Derby winner Orb, Preakness Stakes winner Oxbow and Belmont Stakes winner Palace Malice all are pointing to the Aug. 24 Travers.

Palace Malice was a 13-to-1 shot when he edged Oxbow and Orb in a 1-2-3 finish Saturday at the Belmont.

Last year, I'll Have Another won the first two legs of the Triple Crown but was unable to run in the Belmont due to injury.

The 2011 Triple Crown races were won by three different horses, but there was never a subsequent showdown, according to the Daily Racing Form.
