Oscar Pistorius has been left off South Africa's Paralympic team, which will be headed to the world championships next month in France.

The move was expected, according to the Associated Press, as Pistorius has sworn off competition to prepare for his murder trial, which is likely to begin in the fall.

It has been nine months since Pistorius last competed, which was at September's London Paralympics games. He is currently the Paralympic world champion in both the 200 and 400 meters.

Pistoruius, 26, is charged with the premeditated murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in February. If convicted, Pistorius would spend a minimum of 25 years in prison.
