Former German cyclist and Tour de France champion Jan Ullrich uses some pretty interesting logic when assessing that Lance Armstrong should have his Tour de France titles reinstated.
Basically, everyone was dirty.
"I would give Armstrong the Tour victories back. ... That's how it was back then," Ullrich told Sport Bild magazine, according to the Associated Press. "It doesn't help anyone to draw a line through the winners' list."
Ullrich, who thrice finished second in the Tour de France to Armstrong, said that he didn't want the titles Armstrong vacated. That seems fair, since Ullrich himself has admitted to receiving blood treatments and was stripped of his '05 second place finish.
"I only want victories that I've experienced on the bike," he said. "I don't want to win anything at the green table."
Armstrong was the Tour de France champion seven consecutive years from 1999-2005. He has since had all of his titles stripped.
