WATCH: Bowler denied 300 game by lane malfunction

By Evan Hilbert |

Bowling is one of the rare sports where its pinnacle is quantifiable -- you can do no better than a 300 game.

Troy Walker had rolled 11 straight strikes and needed one more for the perfect score. And, as you can see, his attempt at a 12th strike was denied by the rack.

But Walker got another shot, and as the crowd stood in anticipation, he managed to knock over just seven pins. You can just feel the air being sucked out of the room as the crowd groans and offers a polite smattering of applause.

For Walker's part, he didn't begin angrily chucking balls about the alley, so that's something.

"Something to talk about," Walker said. "Won't forget that one."
