Serena Williams double faults on match point, smashes racket

By Evan Hilbert |

A good carpenter never blames his (or her) tools. But I wouldn't tell that to Serena Williams right now.

After blowing a 4-1 lead in the second set, sisters Serena and Venus Williams lost in the first round of the China Open Monday to Liezel Huber and Chan Hao-Ching 6-7 (3), 6-4, 11-9.

But they didn't fall gracefully.

Serving to stay alive, Serena double-faulted, blasting her serves into the net consecutive times. She then destroyed her racket, chucked it aside, and calmly congratulated the victors.
