Harlem Globetrotter breaks record for longest shot made

By Evan Hilbert | CBSSports.com

Rookie Harlem Globetrotter Thunder Law drained a shot from nearly 110 feet away yesterday in Phoenix, giving him the Guinness record for longest made shot in history.

Law's 109 foot, 9 inch shot bested the previous record by more than five feet.

“Wow! It's definitely an honor as a rookie to represent my team, the Harlem Globetrotters, and break the record for the world's longest basketball shot,” Law said. “The Globetrotters make phenomenal trick shots at our shows every night, so if you want to see more spectacular feats, you have to come out and see us live.”

It was pretty spectacular. Law had to go a few rows deep in the endzone in order to achieve the proper distance.

Law broke the record Thursday, which was apparently Guinness World Records Day.
