Report: UFC fighter del Rosario on life support after heart attack

UFC fighter Shane del Rosario remained on life support Thursday night, two days after suffering sudden cardiac arrest at his home, according to a report by

According to ESPN, del Rosario has "no brain activity remaining." The 30-year-old fighter suffered a heart attack on Tuesday, and doctors are expected to make a decision Friday about whether to continue life support. quoted del Rosario's trainer, Colin Oyama, via text message from the hospital:

"There is no brain activity remaining," Oyama told ESPN.

Rumors of del Rosario's death circulated Thursday evening. UFC commissioner Dana White tweeted, "RIP Shane Del Rosario."

Del Rosario, 30, came to UFC after Strikeforce, but he had lost his first two matches within UFC. Most recently, del Rosario (11-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) had pulled out of a scheduled Dec. 28 fight due to a rib injury.
