The players, upset that they haven't been paid since September, simply stood on the pitch in their match against Real Sociedad. The referee suspended the match after only one minute.

The team was also fined just over four thousand dollars.
"It's very difficult to decide to do this, especially in a quarterfinal. It's an extreme situation," defender Oriol Lozarano told the AP. "We know what the consequences could be, that we can be kicked out of the competition, but we knew we had the support of the fans to do what we did."
The boycott was in protest to club president Angel Lavin's refusal to resign. However, according to the AP, Lavin was relieved of his duties Friday.
