Just two weeks removed from one of the toughest fights of his career, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has already announced the date of his next fight, just not the next opponent.

Money will fight on Sept. 13, his chief promoter told ESPN.com.

“Floyd will go on Sept. 13 and we looking at who he's going to fight and where he's going to fight,” Leonard Ellerbe said. “Obviously Las Vegas is his home and the MGM Grand is always the leading candidate, but we will take a look at our other options.”

It's the fourth fight in Mayweather's six-bout deal with Showtime that will net the undefeated welterweight champion around $200 million.

Mayweather (46-0) handled free-swinging Marcos Maidana on May 3 by decision – largely a result of Money's economical, pointed jabs compared to Maidana's relentless cuts. That was Mayweather's ninth straight fight at the MGM Grand, but the Barclays Center in Brooklyn was apparently considered ahead of his latest bout.

Ellerbe said his camp would likely consider fighting in New York, but the opponent is still up in the air.

“Those guys at the Barclays Center made a tremendous offer for the Maidana fight, and I'm sure they'll be looking to be in the Floyd Mayweather business again come September, but the MGM is home and they are always the leading candidate.”

After the Maidana fight, which was significantly closer than most pundits predicted, both fighters said they'd be open to a rematch. Ellerbe confirmed that a second bout is “definitely in the mix” of candidates. Maidana, for what it's worth, thought he won the first fight.
