Austin Dillon held off Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. en route to his first NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series win on Sunday night at Charlotte Motorspeedway. Truex Jr. dominated the field all night by leading 233 laps, but could not catch up to Dillon, who stayed out when drivers hit pit road with approximately 30 laps to go. Dillon led just two laps of the race all night.

The win was Dillon's first since joining the Monster Energy circuit seven years ago.

Fresh off a win at Charlotte in the Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race, Kyle Busch picked up where he left off by edging out Truex Jr. in Stage 1. However, the No. 78 team would not be denied in Stage 2 as Truex Jr. narrowly beat eight-time track winner Jimmie Johnson for his series-leading sixth stage victory.

Denny Hamlin took Stage 3 thanks in part to a speedy pit-stop following a caution with just eight laps to go. Hamlin's No. 11 team was able to fend off both Busch and Truex Jr. as well as Matt Kenseth en route to valuable playoff points.

Chase Elliott, Brad Keselowski and Jeffrey Earnhardt were each involved in a messy wreck just 20 laps in, sending them to the garage. It was not the result Keselowski was expecting after starting 10th and having won at the track in 2013.

It was simply not meant to be this week for Kyle Larson, who was the points leader heading into the race. After failing to get through pre-qualifying inspection, Larson was forced to start Sunday from the back of the field. The No. 42 Chevrolet battled, but eventually suffered a fatal blow towards the end of Stage 3.

Here's how the top 10 finished.
